I love our eldest daughter’s name but it’s making our job of naming our babies a lot harder! It’s Aurora and we’ve already decided against a few names to avoid a ‘Disney’ looking sibset theme.

What about Walter, NN Walt w/ Penelope, NN Nell or Penny. Our new name crush 😍 It is literally Walt Disney’s name though.

We’ve also gone back to Margot but we have a Theodore who is Theo 99.9% of the time... Margot & Zachary are other names on the top of our list but are they too much? Probably would be Mari or Maggie & Theo - full names Margot & Theodore.

Otherwise it’s between Penelope & Oliver (popular, I know), Emmeline & Zachary or Cecily & Quentin. We also have a Violet. Thanks for your help!

I don't really understand your post. Are you having twins?

ZebraKid71 · 06/12/2018 00:25

Emmeline and quentin are my favourites.
Walter is OK, Penelope is getting quite popular in my area.

pixieloux · 06/12/2018 00:26

Yep, nearly 26 weeks along and don’t feel like we’re even close to naming them!

nocluenoidea · 06/12/2018 04:33

I don't understand either, how many children do you have and what are their names?
I think unless all your children were disney themed it wouldn't be a problem!

Mamaryllis · 06/12/2018 04:47

Rory, Theo, Emme and Zach.

Juanbablo · 06/12/2018 05:12

Just pointing out that Walter is a Disney name. Walt Disney?! His name was Walter.

Juanbablo · 06/12/2018 05:13

Oh didn't see you had put that in the OP! Apologies.

Penny is a cute name.

BikeRunSki · 06/12/2018 05:19

I think you are overthinking the Walt Disney thing.

YeOldeTrout · 06/12/2018 06:12

Is your surname Disney? Otherwise I don't see any terrible* problems in any of those name combos.

*Except they aren't my taste in names for anyone, but I don't think you should care about that.

5tarlight · 06/12/2018 06:31

I would never had made the Disney connection between Aurora and Walter actually, as Aurora to me makes me think of stars etc (and agrees is lovely!)
A little confused about the names of existing DC tho, so you already have 3, Aurora, Theo, and Violet? So needing 2 more names for boy/girl twins? If so I think any you have listed would work with these. Wouldn't worry about a Margot and Theo (unless have not understood and they were the names for the 2 twins, in which case I personally would not do that, too rhymey). I really don't like Quentin but the others are nice and fit with other DC. Congrats op!

whatswithtodaytoday · 06/12/2018 06:32

I don't know who Aurora is in Disney (not really interested, though I've obviously seen a few), and it wouldn't occur to me to see the link to Walt, so I think you're fine.

I'm totally confused about how many children you have though Confused

AJPTaylor · 06/12/2018 06:37

You are over Thinking it by a mile.
Choose a nice boy name
Choose a nice girl name
Avoid shared initials if you can
Check initials don't spell anything rude.

lebkuchenlover · 06/12/2018 07:23

I'm really not keen on Walter, sorry. From all your options I prefer Cecily and Quentin.

ForAMinuteThere · 06/12/2018 07:24

Zachary is lovely. I really can't bear Walter, think it's horrible - and I do love old fashioned names.

Margot is fab. Margot and Zachary for me.

mathanxiety · 06/12/2018 07:31

So am I right in thinking you have Aurora, Violet and Theodore and are naming boy/girl twins?

From your list I would say Oliver and Cecily would be lovely with the others.

I am not keen on Walter at all, not just because of the Disney connection.

I like some of the other names you are mulling over - Emmeline and Penelope - but I think Cecily and Oliver pip them to the post.

I don't think Margot or Quentin go well with the others, or Zachary either.

pipilangstrumpf · 06/12/2018 08:19

Aurora, Violet, Theodore and
Cecily & Quentin!

Oliver/Ollie has been so popular for years that I feel its not only a little dull but may start to sound dated soon. I don't like Walter at all.

pipilangstrumpf · 06/12/2018 08:20

And I wouldn't pair Margot and Quentin as they are the couple in Paper Towns!

sonniboo · 06/12/2018 08:29

I don't like Walter/Walt at all.

pixieloux · 06/12/2018 10:13

😂😂 Okay, so the OP makes sense in my head but I am getting through the day of about three hours sleep! This is also like my hundredth post on here asking for opinions so don’t tend to bother writing out “and siblings are x, y, z” anymore 😂

Basically I’m asking if you’d think of Disney if you saw/heard a ‘sibset’ with Aurora and Walter (NNs Rora and Walt) if you’d think of Disney. I added our other DCs names to show that they wouldn’t be in the only two names in the ‘sibset’ - as that seemed to change some people’s opinions when I previously asked about Sebastian with Aurora.

I know that Disney isn’t on everyone’s mind and I honestly wouldn’t think twice about it if most people didn’t associate.

I thought I’d ask my other question in the same thread so I didn’t start another and that’s just if Margot & Theodore, NNs Mari or Maggie & Theo would be okay as siblings? We use Theo 99.9% of the time so we’re unsure if they were too similar.

If it’s a big no to both of these then Cecily & Quentin, Emmeline & Zachary or Penelope & Oliver are our options. We’re not considering Margot (or Penelope( with Quentin - just Cecily 🙂

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 06/12/2018 10:24

Cecily and Oliver are lovely.

Cosmoa · 06/12/2018 10:36

Haha OP after all these posts you better come back and tell us what you named them 😂😂😂

ShotsFired · 06/12/2018 10:40

The only Walter I think of is Walter White, he of crystal meth Breaking Bad. Or OAPs.

I wouldn't have connected Walter with Walt Disney really at all...

But you are trying way too hard to enforce the nicknames though.

(e.g. what if you do have a Walter and everyone ends up calling him Blue or Methy - nicknames evolve naturally, not by decree)

pixieloux · 06/12/2018 10:43

Although I’m hoping Methy isn’t a NN any of my children have lol, that’s fine. I just like names that can be shortened naturally so they have choice but of course, they have NNs that don’t even relate to their names too.

OP posts:
Reaa · 06/12/2018 10:44

Oliver is a Disney kitten

Conventicle · 06/12/2018 10:51

Does anypne actually call Aurora 'Rora', though?
