Sorry..
I like pp Effie Rose.

Just to warn you...Effie sounds to me like something you might say if you don't want to say "fuck" as in Eff Off. Don't want to be awful and I know this isn't what you asked. Sorry.

itsnowthewaitinggame · 26/11/2018 18:27

It's got to be something like Victoria, Catherine classic and longer name

WinkyisbackontheButterBeer · 26/11/2018 18:35

Effie primrose
Effie Matilda
Effie Isabella

I think it needs to be a longer name too.

PleaseStickBaby · 26/11/2018 19:08

Thanks for the replies. Yeh I do see the "eff off" association. We're more of a "fuck off" family though Wink I do not know why we both like it, but it's always been THE name, even though it's still very early days.

I can't use Rose as we've already used that as a middle name.

I like Catherine (I'm Katherine Blush) but we've already used Kate as a middle name too. Is that too similar?

Yeah, it's definitely got to be something longer to balance it and Kate/Catherine are way too similar.

Winterwonderland12 · 26/11/2018 20:17

You never ever use your middle name. The surname is much more important. Does it flow well with that?

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 26/11/2018 20:55

Nell.

Bluerussian · 26/11/2018 21:28

Why on earth would anyone call their child, 'Effie'. It must be short for something, from way back in great grandma's day. Or a diminutive of Ethel, for people who use Fs for THs.

I googled and Effie is a diminutive of Euphemia, a Greek name that means 'well spoken'.

It is also an ironing machine.

sayanythingelse · 26/11/2018 22:46

Effie is a lovely name. My dad's auntie was called Effie May and I would have loved to have called DD that but unfortunately, it doesn't go with our surname.

ScoobyGangMember · 26/11/2018 22:48

How rude Blue...wonder what you’re children are called.
My daughter is called Effie and we have a family name as a middle name. I agree with it being something classic-I love Effie Jane!

Isn’t Effie the mad woman off the Hunger Games?

MyOtherProfile · 27/11/2018 05:56

How rude Blue
Nah I'm with Blue. Never heard of it before and it sounds like an embarrassing nickname. Surely it must be short for something else more common?

TheLastNigel · 27/11/2018 06:08

Jean

flowery · 27/11/2018 06:12
