Whaaat?! No way. I'm all for an unusual name but no.

ellesbellesxxx · 27/09/2018 20:49

I think Topsy and Tom or that giraffe in Ra-Ra... sorry

elizabetter · 27/09/2018 20:50

Please don’t

AsAProfessionalFekko · 27/09/2018 20:50

'Grew and grew like topsy... '

That's what my mum used to say. I have no idea...

CherryBlossom23 · 27/09/2018 20:50

If you're naming a rabbit maybe!

delphguelph · 27/09/2018 20:51

Just don't do it

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 27/09/2018 20:51

No.

Topsy ??
Clockwork95 · 27/09/2018 20:51

What is topsy a nickname for? Its never occurred to me before that it must be short for something.

And when I hear topsy I always, always think tim. Sorry!

BikeRunSki · 27/09/2018 20:52

I know an adult Topsy. I’d always assumed it was a NN, but google suggests that it is a real name. Well I never.

2slicesoftoast · 27/09/2018 20:53

Please don't. your child will grow up with major issues and hate you. Equally bunny, tarquin, Esmeralda and Peppa.

RavenWings · 27/09/2018 20:53

I mean, really? Really?

You are either naming a jollyhockeysticks type who goes to school with Araminta and Hermione, a rabbit or a ragdoll. None are good.

LegalEagle99 · 27/09/2018 20:55

Why scar a child in such a way? I sense a deed poll in the future.

carbuncleonapigsposterior · 27/09/2018 20:55

I think it would go very well if your surname happens to be Turvey, otherwise no!

cantfindamoniker · 27/09/2018 20:56

Topsy turvy as in: upside down/chaotic/a mess/back to front. Not great associations for a dc. Do you like names like Cricket, Muffin, Bunny, Binky, Beau, Bear, Gigi? Topsy and these are all nicknames for me, but others may disagree..

Ohyesiam · 27/09/2018 21:00

No way.

BlaaBlaaBlaa · 27/09/2018 21:05

It's lovely..... for a rabbit. Not so much for an actual human being.

I'm just picturing reading a job application from a Topsy ....nope it's doesn't work in the slightest.

DramaAlpaca · 27/09/2018 21:07

Don't be silly Grin

SavoyCabbage · 27/09/2018 21:08

Topsy is a slave in Uncle Tom's Cabin.

DemocracyDiesInDarkness · 27/09/2018 21:12

Why don't you change your name to Topsy, and give your child a lovely, normal name?

Clawdy · 27/09/2018 22:04

Yes, Topsy is a girl slave in Uncle Tom's Cabin, she says something like "I just growed and growed...."

atomicfission · 27/09/2018 22:23

As a professional fekko well there's your answer!

It's a no from me too.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 27/09/2018 22:33

Blimey - if never have pegged mum as a reader of uncle toms cabin!

Hellywelly10 · 27/09/2018 22:35

Was my nans nn so i love it.

batshitbetty · 27/09/2018 23:07

It's the name of a pet, not a person. Please don't inflict it on a child

atomicfission · 27/09/2018 23:11

Oh, as a nickname I think it's really cute. Just not as a "real" name
