I had no idea this was actually a name. I laughed when I saw the thread title 😂😂 it’s awful

Starburst8 · 23/08/2018 17:54

My ex wanted to call our son Crispin...Crispy for short Hmm Needless to say our son isn't called Crispin/Crispy.
At end of day OP it's your choice but I think some consideration for the child is a must Smile

RachelAnneJ · 23/08/2018 17:56

Crispin's is the name of a Fish & Chip ship near my Nan's.

I think it's an awful name, for many of the reasons previous posters have mentioned.

OutPinked · 23/08/2018 18:14

A butler.

LifeHackQueens · 23/08/2018 18:16

Food. It's a brand of cooking oil isn't it?

MrsSnootyPants2018 · 23/08/2018 18:16

MikeUniformMike · 23/08/2018 21:34

apple

toothtruth · 23/08/2018 21:37

The actor. And yeah it does sound quite 'toff' but also fun and unusual.... Hed have to have quite the personality to pull it off! If its likely that he will seeing as his family are all pretty 'out there' then go for it... but I think if theres any chance he will be a very shy self conscious type then maybe best not!

MonkeyToucher · 24/08/2018 10:04

This is totally random, but there’s an episode of Jonathan Creek where he makes a joke about someone called Crispin:

“ have you met my boyfriend Crispin? He has 2 penises and his own airline...”

So it’s totally ruined for me - sorry!!!

MeMyselfand · 24/08/2018 10:12

For some reason it feels like a creepy name to me. He will need to be thick skinned or eccentric to pull it off unless your mega posh then who gives a toss

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 24/08/2018 18:38

Sounds like one of Walter the Softy's simpering pals to me.

By the way, did The Beano get anywhere with the cease-and-desist notice that they served on Jacob R-M ordering him to stop impersonating their copyrighted character?!

GraceMarks · 24/08/2018 19:34

Someone who guffaws instead of laughing.

percheron67 · 24/08/2018 20:08

I like it. A strong sort of name. Only one thing, my friend had a super and gentle German Shepherd with the name. Wouldn't put me off though. He was a smashing soul.

Merrz · 24/08/2018 20:11

A mix between crisps and aspirin Confused Wouldn't of even known that was a name

EdWinchester · 24/08/2018 20:13

Utterly mimsy. Probably with a wet bottom lip.

Sorry.

twoundertwo54321 · 24/08/2018 20:14

ainsisoisje · 24/08/2018 20:18

The singer from Kula shaker and mr bingley actor from BBCs pride and prejudice. I like it but tis a bit posh.

cariadlet · 24/08/2018 20:39

Don't like it at all, sorry. Much too public school.

marywinchester · 24/08/2018 21:04

when i hear it i think Richard Armitage, it's his middle name and he seems an okay type of chap. Also it's the name of the patron saint of leatherworkers and cobblers so to me it's someone who works hard and def isn't wet or floppy. I like it.

December2018 · 24/08/2018 21:10

EmmaC78 · 25/08/2018 00:00

I don't like it at all. It is a really odd sounding name.

LaDaronne · 25/08/2018 21:32

A boy at school who was horribly bullied and eventually changed his name.
