Honest opinions on Edith please...

Not that we should be adding to our ridiculously long girl's list but I've been liking it a lot recently... I'm curious to know how well received it is. Thanks!

Love it. I only know one, she's almost two. I could see it growing in popularity over the next few years but not so much it would put you off.

AnyaMoondial · 19/08/2018 20:50

Really like it

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 19/08/2018 20:56

I can't stand it. Harsh and ugly to me although I know most posters will disagree Grin

bridgetreilly · 19/08/2018 20:59

Really pretty.

yellowplumpreserves · 19/08/2018 21:02

I’ve always liked it, even before old fashioned names were “in” again, but DH hated it so didn’t use it.

pixieloux · 19/08/2018 21:04

@yellowplumpreserves My DH actually likes it and he's hard to please with the old fashioned names lol.

@GreatDuckCookery I'm shocked that more people seem to like it than not, to be honest.

She will get Edie, which is far lovelier.

waterfeature · 19/08/2018 21:15

I love it

TigerDroveAgain · 19/08/2018 21:16

Dreary

IHaventStoppedCravingYet · 19/08/2018 21:16

It’s my mums name and she hates it with a passion (she was named after her mum) and has always used her middle name. Definitely an old lady name to me and not in a cute old fashioned way.

DramaAlpaca · 19/08/2018 21:17

Very frumpy & dreary.

NuffingChora · 19/08/2018 21:20

I like it! Classic name, unusual these days without being weird, easy to spell, hard to mispronounce, nickname options if that’s your scene, and definitely don’t think it’s particulalry dreary or frumpy, especially when compared to a lot of the other ‘old lady’ names which are having a resurgence. Solid choice.

Joinourclub · 19/08/2018 21:20

Love it.

BlytheofWindyWillows · 19/08/2018 21:23

Love it

17caterpillars1mouse · 19/08/2018 21:33

Love it. I know an 8 month old Edith and she is always Edith, not Edie which I think is lovely

whathaveiforgottentoday · 19/08/2018 21:37

Love it and love it's shortened version of Edie too.

n0ne · 19/08/2018 21:48

Adore it

Crunchymum · 19/08/2018 21:49

Horrible name.

Crunchymum · 19/08/2018 21:50

Just pissing with you.

We have a baby Edith. We use both Edith and Edie.

InfiniteCurve · 19/08/2018 21:55

I love Edith,and I know a little Edith,she's a sweetie!

pixieloux · 19/08/2018 21:59

We'd probably use Edie as a shortened form but it would definitely seem too nicknamey against our other children's names if used on it's own. Not that we'd plan to... I love Edith, the lovely Edie is a bonus to it!

I love old lady names! Our DDs have then but ones that seem to be getting quite popular now and are apart of the comeback crew lol.

Have you thought about Eden, if you like Edie?

formerbabe · 19/08/2018 22:52

Awful...I quite like an old fashioned name but Edith is unspeakably frumpy and ugly sounding.

GripNeeded · 19/08/2018 23:05

My little niece is Edith and it suits her perfectly
