Hi all

Baby due Friday and after a few polls and help on here over the last 9 months we have managed to get our boy list down to 2 and girl list to 6. Having difficulty though with shortening girl list further so can people list these in order of preference:

Annabel
Arabella
Eliza
Elizabeth
Heidi
Romilly

Big thank you to all who respond 😀

Annabel is very popular where I am in the north west so that's something to think about if you want her to be one of three in the school class.

I'm not keen on Arabella, there are loads of Bella names around at the moment so again she'd be one of three in the class if it gets shortened. I always think it's a very girly girl name.

Heidi is great, I like names that can be shortened but if that wasn't a must for me then Heidi would have been a contender for my dd.

I love the name Elizabeth so I'd get Eliza off your list and go for Elizabeth with the possibility of calling her Eliza, Eliza to me is a half name. When she's older she can choose Eliza, Beth, Liz, Libby or the full Elizabeth.

Arabella

Not bothered about the others. Annabel was on my final list but didn't use it. Not that popular where I live.

Arabella because I teach an Arabella and she's just awesome!

Inkspellme · 30/06/2018 17:35

All nice names, the last two just a bit “frilly” for me.

Eliza

SoNotaWendy · 30/06/2018 17:49

Eliza - yes but use as a short form of Elizabeth
Heidi - yes I like it!
Annabel - yes I like it
Elizabeth - I like Eliza, Beth and Libby but Elizabeth the entire name is a bit long
Arabella - no, arra is not an easy sound. Prefer Bella
Romilly - I quite like this but I have a reservation too. Romilly Street is full of cardboard boxes, that's not why. Not sure. I fifty : fifty like it Grin

Glumglowworm · 30/06/2018 18:37

Elizabeth is one of my all time favourite girls names

There’s so many available shortenings, and it’s nice as a full name as well.

Sophronia · 30/06/2018 19:35

I like Annabel best.

HeyDolly · 30/06/2018 19:37

Romilly.

Baubletrouble43 · 30/06/2018 22:18

Go for romilly! It's gorgeous! Pretty, unusual without being weird and easy to spell. Ticks all my boxes!

Baubletrouble43 · 30/06/2018 22:19

Why does someone always pop up with extra suggestions like Sarah ( which btw is dated and boring) when the op is trying to whittle her list DOWN not add to it?!

Rizzokicks · 30/06/2018 22:20
