Hi all

Baby due Friday and after a few polls and help on here over the last 9 months we have managed to get our boy list down to 2 and girl list to 6. Having difficulty though with shortening girl list further so can people list these in order of preference:

Annabel
Arabella
Eliza
Elizabeth
Heidi
Romilly

Big thank you to all who respond 😀

I like Eliza and Elizabeth but not the others I’m afraid.

GirlfriendInAKorma · 30/06/2018 22:26

Arabella is a horse!

GirlfriendInAKorma · 30/06/2018 22:27

Absolutely loads of Annabelle / Annabel variations in my kids' friends.

Joeybee · 30/06/2018 22:46

From favourite yo least favourite:

Elizabeth - such a classic, timeless and versatile name.
Heidi
Eliza - love it as a nickname for Elizabeth but not as a name on its own.
Romilly- like the sound of this name, though sounds a bit pretentious to me. Love Milly and Rome/Roma as nicknames for it too.
Arabella- this name is a bit of a mouthful. But it's a pretty, feminine name, if that's what you're after.
Annabel- just feels boring and dated compared to other names on the list.

Good luck with picking your name. I hope you have a good delivery and recovery.

Annabel

Picknickers · 30/06/2018 23:16

Love Romilly.

kaytee87 · 01/07/2018 00:08

Elizabeth (nn Eliza if you like)

DeckSofa · 01/07/2018 00:19

I like Annabel and Arabella best.

2up2manydown · 01/07/2018 00:32

I can’t believe how many Arabellas I know. In a class of 30 in my child’s Reception class, there are 3! And I know two others from baby groups. I don’t really like it. I think it’s a bit of a statement name. The statement being “we’re really posh - can you tell?” 🤭

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 01/07/2018 04:02

Romilly is beautiful.

TroubledLichen · 01/07/2018 04:18

Love Elizabeth, Eliza could be a nickname. Also really like Annabel. Arabella is nice too. Not keen on the others.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/07/2018 06:22

Would you shorten?

I like Romilly and Romy.

I like Elizabeth for Beth or Libby but not if she’ll be called Elizabeth!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 01/07/2018 06:23

I like Arabella too.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 01/07/2018 08:22

Eliza

MimiSunshine · 01/07/2018 08:33

Eliza- still plenty of nick name options as people obsessed with saying use Elizabeth and then shorten it.
Elle, Ellie, ZaZa or anything that forms naturally over the child’s life time.

Or Heidi (DeDe) both fab.

Less commonly used but known and not weird

Charliebob1337 · 01/07/2018 09:27

Elizabeth, Eliza then Heidi. Not keen on others sorry.

Tizzlebizzle · 01/07/2018 09:31

I have an Eliza so it's clearly going to be my favourite but I don't like Elizabeth. It's the long "I" sound I like in Eliza and the "LIZ" is too strong for me in Elizabeth.

biscoffbaby · 01/07/2018 10:16

Eliza is my fave

TatianaLarina · 01/07/2018 10:37

Romilly by far.

Heidi in second place.

redmini4 · 01/07/2018 13:18

Eliza then Romilly

deptfordgirl · 01/07/2018 13:24

Eliza

Baubletrouble43 · 01/07/2018 13:42

There are ALOT of Elizas in my community, and by the sounds of it everywhere. I think it may be the new Olivia. Lovely name though x

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/07/2018 13:46

Heidi is very pretty, or Annabel.

sonnyboo · 01/07/2018 13:46

Romilly

Lavenderdays · 01/07/2018 15:55

I have two dc's with names on your list. Won't say which as it might be outing. Eliza could be a shortened version of Elizabeth x
