Third boy due any day and for my own sanity we need to decide on a name or two (i don't want to wait and see what he looks like). Here is our short list. We already have a William & Joseph.

In abc order rather than preference:

Albert (Albie/Bertie) - will i get looks? Bit "out there"?
Daniel (Dan/Danny)
Douglas (Dougie) - not same style/not sure goes with first 2
Edward (Ed/Eddie)
George (dunno)
Lucas (Luke?) - not same style/not sure it goes with first 2
Stanley (Stan) - bit harsh?
Timothy (Tim) DH not too keen.

It's so difficult! I just don't love any!

Daniel :)

blinkineckmum · 28/06/2018 18:17

Albert or Daniel or Edward.

deptfordgirl · 28/06/2018 20:57

Haha to Freddie being underused!

I love Edward and Luke. Both very classic and go with your other classic names.

Wow, lots of responses. Names which people have said go more etc but not on my list are "no go" for various reasons. I'm going to read through comments again and "try" to decide..,

Douglas or Lucas but I love Stan.

I know there are loads of alberts, georges, Edwards, Daniels at school right now!

StrawberryCat · 30/06/2018 20:27

Stanley/Stan is gorgeous! It's mutt nephews name and he's lovely!

I love Douglas too. George is nice too. I like all of the names except Timothy which is quite wet imo.

strawberrypenguin · 30/06/2018 20:34

My DS2 is Albert. We've only ever had positive feedback (he's 2) - I don't think it's 'out there' at all. In fact it's been on a slow rise up the name charts for a few years.

I like all the names on your list though!

TenThousandSpoons · 30/06/2018 20:51

George or Edward from your list.

Also thought of Tom or Ben but see you can’t use them.

What about Samuel?

HJL2506 · 01/07/2018 06:26

I have an 18 month old called Stanley. Love his name. My friend has a 3 month old called Albert. So cute!

CPtart · 01/07/2018 06:38

Luke by a mile.
Like Edward (not Ted) too.

ElfrideSwancourt · 01/07/2018 07:15

What about Edmund?

JaretsGirlfren · 01/07/2018 07:28

Daniel and Douglas are my favourite from your list

Pressuredrip · 01/07/2018 10:06

Albert AND Albie on its own are both in the top 100 so combines is even more popular. Not our there at all anymore.

Pressuredrip · 01/07/2018 10:07

I also know lots of baby Alberts and Albies so I suspect when last years name stays are released soon it will be substantially higher again.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 01/07/2018 10:09

Yes, I'd go with Edward (and Teddy diminutive). The classiest of all those names. There are quite a few Daniels around (FIW I prefer Dan) already.

Pigeonpost · 01/07/2018 10:11

I like Albert/Bertie best. But I am also a huge fan of Ned as a nn for Edward. I also quite like Edmund.

viques · 01/07/2018 10:14

What about David, not common, goes well with your other names and doesn't need shortening........

Trampire · 01/07/2018 10:20

Daniel.

Never met a Dan I didn't like. I know of one teenage Dan and he's a lovely boy, really well liked. That might be persuading me.

My next door neighbour is a 40 yr old Dan. He's cool.

Of course now in my head I'm repeating - "Dan! Dan! Dan! Dan! .......Dan!" From Alan Partridge Grin

LexieLulu · 01/07/2018 10:22

My DS is Luke, I went to the hospital knowing he was either going to be called Luke or Daniel.

So I vote Daniel from your list. Beautiful name

MariaMadita · 01/07/2018 10:25

I really like David.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 01/07/2018 10:32

I love David (well due a revival) but less keen on Dave, the inevitable diminutive...

Hippopotas · 08/07/2018 17:39

I like Albert

dancingunicorns123 · 08/07/2018 18:32

Albert goes

MyGastIsFlabbered · 08/07/2018 19:04

I've got an Albert known as Bertie and generally everyone loves it and says it really suits him. He's 5.
