We've managed to narrow it down to these three but baby's due in a week and we still can't decide for the life of us.

  • Sunshine
  • Symphony
  • Seawillow

I know they're not MN Approved names but hoping some people on here will have similar taste.

We already have a Honeybee and a Starling.

I like Symphony.

Brendatheblender · 10/06/2018 19:39

4/10

MummytoCSJH · 10/06/2018 19:41

Seawillow? You are joking? 🤨

commonarewe · 10/06/2018 19:41

Was 'Pissbiscuit' already taken?

3dogsandcounting · 10/06/2018 19:41

Nice try 😂

Annabelle4 · 10/06/2018 19:44

Do you know the sex of the baby?

Are those names the names you'll choose, regardless of the sex?

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 10/06/2018 19:44

You have to be taking the piss. No one, not even Jamie Oliver, would saddle children with such stupid names.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 10/06/2018 19:47

Honestly I think I'm done with Mumsnet if this is genuine.

TomaytoTomarto · 10/06/2018 20:00

I know, Space - the replies are so rude.

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 10/06/2018 20:05

Well tomayto for what it's worth you're just as bad with bloody Solstice and Andromeda. These are children, not chinchillas.

bastardkitty · 10/06/2018 20:06
Grin
bastardkitty · 10/06/2018 20:10

Could Knotweed also be a contender?

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 10/06/2018 20:11

I read the names out to my husband just now and he misheard and said 'Seaweed!?' Hahahahaha

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 10/06/2018 20:23

Honeybee, starling, and.....woodlouse. Perfect.

bastardkitty · 10/06/2018 20:35

Has anyone mentioned Rasputin?

ButterflyOfFreedom · 10/06/2018 20:40

Not to my taste at all.

How about Willow for a girl or Sonny for a boy?

TomaytoTomarto · 10/06/2018 20:44

I KNOW both a Solstice (nn Sol. boy) and an Andromeda (nn Andi. girl). These sound perfectly acceptable to me. You just get used to it.
I know lots of unusually-named children, and I think it is glorious - far more interesting than all the top-ten names that just get regurgitated on here and in RL.

Good luck, OP, and do ignore the boring people. I don't think you picked your audience well here though.

sparklepops123 · 10/06/2018 21:02

Yh ok 🙄

InSpaceNooneCanHearYouScream · 10/06/2018 21:06

Well then tomayto you know some very wanky people don't you. Well done.

questabellatreetop · 10/06/2018 21:16

This has to be a jokeHmm

WeEatTheYearAway · 10/06/2018 21:26

I do like Solstice. I hadn't thought of it but it's definitely a contender now.
Dh has also said he really likes Orion which I'm not 100% keen on but I do like the idea of a space themed name.

I hadn't really thought too much about pronunciation. Dh and I aren't British and I think it sounds alright in our accents but we do live in Britain so I don't how it'd sound in our local accent

Wow! Err... Seawillow. I’d love to meet a Seawillow Smile

commonarewe · 10/06/2018 21:36

Do you move in very, ah, arty circles?

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 10/06/2018 21:42

Meh. Seawillow is probably smartest choice of the lot as Willow is very common these days, so the child can use this very popular shortened version of their name.

AnotherRoadsideAttraction · 10/06/2018 21:42

(And fit in with their classmates!!)
