We just cannot agree. Our baby boy is 9 days old. This is our first baby together - I have 3 others and DH has 4 others. Our naming style is just SO different.

I have namechanged in order to give you our other kids names.

His are Olivia, Jacob, Thomas and Joshua

Mine are Everley "Evvie", Embry and Easton. The "E" theme was not intended so not fussed eithe way if baby girl has an E name.

For this baby I adore the following:

Aubree
Kinsley
Sydney
Mallory

DH really wants Lorna- his mum and her idential twin sister were Lorraine and Laura. He likes Lorna to honour them both. I'm happy to have this as a middle name but not a first name.

Other than Lorna, the only other girls name he will even consider is Courtney which I really dislike.

What on earth are we going to name our girl??

100% go with Lorna.
It's a beautiful name.

TammySwansonTwo · 09/06/2018 09:23

Laurie or Laurel?

Nanasueathome · 09/06/2018 09:23

Am confused
Is the baby a boy or a girl
Ops first line says baby boy and then goes in to use the name Lorna in honour of family members
Surely Lorna is a girl’s name

NameChange30 · 09/06/2018 09:24

“Our baby boy is 9 days old”
“What are we going to name our girl?”

Hmm

Is it a boy or girl?

metalmum15 · 09/06/2018 09:35

is it a boy or a girl

Maybe op isn't sure.

CourtneyLovely · 09/06/2018 09:38

Maybe a nice gender-neutral name would be best!

sonlypuppyfat · 09/06/2018 09:39

I'm confused

RonWeasleysMum · 09/06/2018 09:39

lol sorry, definitely a girl!!

I have to say though, his children's names are much nicer than yours. Sorry!

BlueTrousers · 09/06/2018 09:42

Definitely let him pick the name!!

NoSquirrels · 09/06/2018 09:46

So you like names ending in -EE

He likes traditional.

I’m assuming girl. Grin

Loralie
Coralie
Amelie
Audrey
Annie (can have many more unusual longer forms and use nn Annie)

That rule also goes for loads of shortening like Hettie/Hattie/Bettie/Lucy etc

Jolie
Melody
Sadie

maybejane · 09/06/2018 09:48

Sorry OP, don't really like any from your list. They scream wannabe American. What about Lauren, Lorelei or Lara?

rainbowstardrops · 09/06/2018 10:01

Blimey, you do have very different ideas on names Grin

How about
Laurel
Eden
Erin
Wren
Willow
Elle
Anais

harrietm87 · 09/06/2018 10:16

Laurie or Lauren are lovely if you don't like Lorna?

LucyJ61 · 09/06/2018 10:16

Laurel (nickname Laurie), Lorelei (nickname Lori) are both lovely names and seem to suit both styles. I do like Lorna as well, although if you really dislike it there’s no point.

LucyJ61 · 09/06/2018 10:19

Also Lauren is nice, as others have suggested and you could have Laurie as a nickname

MissWimpyDimple · 09/06/2018 10:21

Is Everley a boy or girl?

Something classic would be better.

Lorna is nice. Or Lara.

Definitely not another E name.

PaintBySticker · 09/06/2018 10:22

Leonie?

MrBloomsLeftVeg · 09/06/2018 10:23

Yanny

Yika · 09/06/2018 10:27

What about Lola (takes the first two letters of Lorraine and Laura).

Flamingosnbears · 09/06/2018 10:32

How about

Laurel
Lorena
Luella
Lois

elQuintoConyo · 09/06/2018 10:36

Lamorna. Cornish and very pretty. Slight link to his mum as it begins with L.

LoveInTokyo · 09/06/2018 10:42

I prefer Lorna to your names, sorry.

daisypond · 09/06/2018 11:18

Audrey instead of Aubree?
Sidonie, instead of Sydney? It's a French name.
I rather like Mallory - though it's not my style at all, so I've surprised myself there. Molly?
Not Kinsley. I'd want to say Kingsley, and that's definitely a boy's name.

auntyflonono · 09/06/2018 11:47

Octavia

Loren

Merryn

Lauren
