Daniel or something else?

I don't know what the sex of this baby is but am really struggling to come up with boys names. I already have one DS and used the only name I'm really keen on for him.

I've been mulling Daniel over a lot. I like Dan and Danny as nicknames. It seems good for a kid and an adult. But is it....boring? I'm worried it's a bit Ian / Chris / Rob if you know what I mean Grin.

Open to other suggestions! I also like (but am not convinced by):
Freddie
Max
Ned
Arthur (but can't use)
Benjamin (can't use)

I prefer Daniel to the other names you have mentioned. Its a perfectly good name and I dont think its boring.

I love the name Daniel. We can't use it as a close friend has recently named their baby that but otherwise would be on my list.

KitXi · 05/06/2018 18:30

I quite like Daniel. A classic, will always be popular. But those attributes could easily translate as "boring" I suppose!

Freddie is having a bit of a "moment" right now so there will be lots around this age, but not so many in a few years. That would put me off more than constant popularity.

Love Daniel

EmmaC78 · 05/06/2018 18:36

I think Daniel is a beautiful name

mustbemad17 · 05/06/2018 19:27

I wanted Daniel this time. DP & my mother vetoed it because of Daniel bloody Radcliffe 😩 apparently every time they hear the name now they think of Harry Potter. I was slightly devastated but have grown to love the new name we have chosen

I do like Daniel, i love the nicknames that come with it

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/06/2018 19:28

Vitalogy · 05/06/2018 19:37

Love it.

Figgygal · 05/06/2018 19:45

Ds1 official name is Daniel though he's been Danny since day 1 and though he knows it's his name it's never been used for him gives him options as he grows up

His brother is Alexander but again day to day is Alex

Crocky · 05/06/2018 19:46

I always wanted a Daniel. Unfortunately dh really didn’t and I had to compromise.

LexieLulu · 05/06/2018 19:51

My son is called Luke, we went the hospital not knowing if we would call him Luke or Daniel. I love that name!

I picked Luke cause we have a very close family friend called Daniel, we didn't know any Luke's.

Lovely boys name

Flamingosnbears · 05/06/2018 19:52

Not boring at all, if you love it go for it - no regrets that way.

Vitalogy · 05/06/2018 20:29

I always wanted a Daniel. Unfortunately dh really didn’t and I had to compromise. Same here.

Oopsy41 · 05/06/2018 20:32

I have a Daniel who's 11, I think it's a lovely name. He's Dan at home and Danny at school

ButterflyOfFreedom · 05/06/2018 20:35

I love Daniel! Would have been a contender for us if there wasn't already one in the family.

Littletreefrog · 05/06/2018 20:36

I have an 11 year old Daniel as well. He is Daniel to me and DH, Danny to his grandparents and Dan to his friends. I'm biased but I love it.

deptfordgirl · 05/06/2018 20:48

Daniel's gorgeous, go with it!

emwithme · 05/06/2018 21:04

I always said (from childhood) if I had a boy, he would be Daniel, but I married one so it's off the table. It's a lovely name, has lots of choice re nicknames and everyone knows how to spell it!

NanooCov · 05/06/2018 21:07

I like Daniel a lot. One in my NCT group. I wouldn't shorten it, though obviously others will over time.

BabloHoney · 05/06/2018 21:27

Love Daniel! Always wanted it for a boy but other half’s brother already had a Daniel (rude Wink) so we picked something else. But it’s timeless and fab.

Aurea · 05/06/2018 21:32

I have a Daniel Alexander

He's now 17 and he likes to be known as Danny.
