Fabulous clues @finallychangedmyusername ! I especially liked the Adele and Delly clues because they stumped me utterly Grin

This is my latest offering:

A wealthy warrior, although more commonly an actress, you might need her if you suddenly take a turn for the worse

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 10/02/2019 18:05

Glad you liked my clues for Adelaide.

I keep getting drawn to Emma... meaning nurse, actresses Thompson and Watson?

DuggeeHugs · 10/02/2019 20:17

Not Emma, I'm afraid.

The actress bit of the clue is the least strong

LadyGAgain · 10/02/2019 23:20

Hello!
So sorry for absence. A new role at work has meant a snorkel and treading water are essential skills... I do keep checking in but brainspan hasn't lended to adding any value!

So my brain says Xena or Zena. Probably as I saw warrior.🤷🏻‍♀️😂

finallychangedmyusername · 13/02/2019 07:05

Congrats on the new role @LadyGAgain!

I have no further guesses, @DuggeeHugs has stumped me!

DuggeeHugs · 13/02/2019 07:06

Hi @LadyGAgain - sounds like you've been chucked in at the deep end! Some Cake to keep you going

In terms of guesses, it isn't either of those I'm afraid.

This name is back in fashion at the moment, but sounds like a diminutive rather than a full name, even though it works in its own right

OP posts:
MordredsOrrery · 13/02/2019 07:16

Also, I'll update the original clue to:

... you might need to find her if you suddenly take a turn for the worse

DuggeeHugs · 13/02/2019 07:16

Sorry name change fail there

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 13/02/2019 09:08

Grin I was excited there for a moment that we had a new player!

Cosmoa · 13/02/2019 09:36

I was going to guess Florence but I don't think it's a diminutive.. Except from maybe Florencia?!

MordredsOrrery · 13/02/2019 10:46

Sorry to disappoint there Blush

Not Florence I'm afraid.

I'll try and think of a better clue!

finallychangedmyusername · 13/02/2019 18:16

Ooh, Edie?

finallychangedmyusername · 13/02/2019 18:20

E D = emergency department. Edie means "rich in war". Diminutive of Edith. I'm at a loss with the actress clue though!

DuggeeHugs · 13/02/2019 22:57

Yep, @finallychangedmyusername , Edie it is!

You are correct on all counts. The actresses are the Edies Sedgewick, McClurg, Falco and Inksetter to name but a few. My reasoning being there were far more Edie actresses than warriors. It was pretty tenuous in fairness. I hoped the E.D. clue would make up for it!

Over to you...

LadyGAgain · 14/02/2019 00:22

Well done @finallychangedmyusername and excellent clues as ever @DuggeeHugs !

LadyGAgain · 14/02/2019 00:22

Welcome @Cosmoa Smile

finallychangedmyusername · 14/02/2019 09:50

Yay! Next clue coming shortly, but thought I'd provide an updated list of names used so far... it's quite amazing: Grin

Andrew, Serafina, Eli, Verity, Juliet, Agatha, Phoebe, Frances, Rebecca, Thomas, Cecilia, Leonard, Bianca, Donald, Peter, Niamh, Lucifer, Demelza, Nevaeh, Alexander, Christopher, Miranda, William, Robert, Jack, Jude, Rachel, Margaret, Basil, Hyacinth, Aurora, Jessamine, Nicola, Kerry, Susan, Seren, Julia, Meredith, Bernard, Arthur, Ross, Blanche, Amy, Alicia, Stephen/Steven, Talitha/Tabitha, Ruth, Noah, Rowan, Lucille, Kit, Alice, Lydia, Beatrice, Mary, Jennifer, Keith, Aurelia, Aram, Oliver, Anouk, Heidi, Seth, Rose, Herbert, Sadie, Florence, Niall, Primrose, Ellis, Jordi, Hannah, Hermione, Johnny, Angelina, Frieda, Adam, Gandalf, Poppy, Hazel, Jane, Afton, Susan, Roxanne, Barbara, Stewart/Stuart, Philomena, Isaac, Rufus, Elsa, Morris/Maurice, Ken, Iona, Mark, Roger, Wilfred, Darren, Geraldine, Pascal, Harriet, Russell, Alfred, Nora, Scott, Enid, Jonathan, Nelly, Arlo, Pearl, Beverley, Dana, Toby, Clifford, Cecilia, Lisa, Tallulah, Liam, Declan, Kenneth, George, Rayna, Kezia, Annika, Chantilly, Quinn, Sally, Cornelius, Darcy/Darcie, Peter, Nina, Gabrielle, Marcus, Bruce, Rod, Joshua, Luke, Eve, Belle, Sabrina, Ariadne, David, Martin, Theresa, Breda, Nicodemus, Samuel, Hector, Shiloh, Phryne, Gordon, Cora, Gregory, Aurora, Meghan, Dermot, Paige, Urban, Carter, Ludovic, Harvey, Kristin, Laurence, Cecil, Richard, Penelope, Deborah, Felicity, Melanie, Owen/Owain, Caroline/Carrie, Abigail, Esmeralda, Christabel, Aneurin, Earl, Christine, Clare/Clair/Claire, Jeremy, Tina, Aria, Byron, Patrick, Casper, Imogen, Victoria, Percy, Jean, Sterling, Belinda, Jared, Yael/Jael, Sarah, Scarlett, Zoe, Elspeth, Holly, Gene, Ruth, Sylvester, Erwin, Gladys, Bethany, Fabian, Damian, Helen, Autumn, Venus, Hayley, Ferdinand, Michael, Portia, Katy, Linus, Timothy, Viola, Jacob, Holly, Donna, Ivy, Kevin, Clarence, Nicholas/Nick, Howard, Natalie, Naomi, Max, Calliope, Aaron, Yolanda, Adelaide, Edie...

finallychangedmyusername · 14/02/2019 09:52

And now...

Anyone in the arts would be proud to have this guy in their home, even though he's grumpy around children (and a bit dirty too). He might be a convict, poet or fashionista.

DuggeeHugs · 15/02/2019 16:34

Wow @finallychangedmyusername that list is really something!

I'm going with Roald as my first guess

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 15/02/2019 18:16

Not Roald although I see your thinking!

The three gentleman in the second sentence are all namesakes.

DuggeeHugs · 15/02/2019 18:56

Hmm.

Philip?

Oscar?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 15/02/2019 20:08

Yep indeedy, Oscar!

An actor would be proud to have an oscar in their home.
Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street is grumpy and lives in a bin (so would be dirty).
The convict is Pistorious, poet is Wilde and fashionista is De La Rente.

finallychangedmyusername · 15/02/2019 20:11

Renta, even. Typo, sorry!

DuggeeHugs · 15/02/2019 21:50

Ah, good clues and timely too @finallychangedmyusername Smile

I got Wilde and De La Renta but forgot Pistorious.

As a total aside, I'm quite looking forward to the Oscars red carpet stuff but not sure about the ceremony without a host!

I'll put my thinking cap on for another name

OP posts:
DuggeeHugs · 16/02/2019 14:32

Another one for you:

Already leading the pack, she's neck and neck in her next challenge. Having a faery horde probably helps.
