Not Dora I'm afraid

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 03/09/2018 08:17

Ruth?

DuggeeHugs · 03/09/2018 08:35

Yes @finallychangedmyusername has it

One meaning of Ruth is beauty and the biblical Ruth travelled well with Naomi in her self-titled book

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 03/09/2018 09:28

Excellent! I'll post a new clue shortly. Great clues @DuggeeHugs

finallychangedmyusername · 03/09/2018 09:45

Ok, here comes the next one:

This action hero wanders through the forest, following the birdsong above him. His choice of clothing keeps him warm on the inside which comes in useful as he journeys through the decades and centuries.

LadyGAgain · 03/09/2018 21:17

Robin?

finallychangedmyusername · 03/09/2018 21:22

Not Robin sorry

DuggeeHugs · 03/09/2018 22:08

Jack?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 03/09/2018 22:11

Not Jack sorry

DuggeeHugs · 04/09/2018 16:53

Armando?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 04/09/2018 17:05

Nope again sorry. (I'm now worrying I've made this one too tough and that the clues in my head don't actually work...) Confused. It'll be fine. Grin

finallychangedmyusername · 05/09/2018 17:26

Would you all like another clue?

DuggeeHugs · 05/09/2018 18:09

Yes please - it feels like I'm getting so much clue for my money that I don't know where to start Blush

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 05/09/2018 18:36

Ok, there are three namesakes described in the clue. Two are actors and the other is fictitious, not human and only known by his first name (no surname). I've also included the meaning of the name and some letters as part of the name.

DuggeeHugs · 05/09/2018 19:16

Thank you - there is a lot to look for!

Hmm. It probably isn't correct, but Edward/Eddie keeps coming to mind?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 05/09/2018 20:15

Fraid not Eddie or Edward. Have a think about who might have journeyed (fictiotiously) through decades and centuries... and which actor might have played him.

LadyGAgain · 05/09/2018 20:46

Christopher?

DuggeeHugs · 05/09/2018 22:29

Matt?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 06/09/2018 07:17

Nope again. Far less common than Matthew, Christopher etc (yet still a recognisable name that you'll all know). Also has been a Pope's name.

DuggeeHugs · 06/09/2018 08:05

Benedict?

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 06/09/2018 08:44

Not Benedict, but I see your thinking. The fictitious namesake is a cartoon - he's the one following the birdsong...

DuggeeHugs · 06/09/2018 12:18

I think I've got stuck in a guessing rut Confused

I'm changing tack with this guess: Linus

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 06/09/2018 14:36

Nope sorry. Benedict has the right number of syllables...

DuggeeHugs · 06/09/2018 14:56

Sylvester!

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 06/09/2018 17:00

Yay, you got it! Well played @DuggeeHugs.

Action hero is Sylvester Stallone.
Forest/most at home - name means wooded.
Following the birdsong - Sylvester the cat chasing after Tweety Pie.
Warm clothing is the VEST in the middle of SylVESTer.
Time traveller is Sylvester McCoy AKA the 7th Dr.
