We are expecting DD no 3 later this year and struggling to think of any names!

DH has declared since she is to be our last he wants to go out with a bang and come up with a completely over the top wonderful name.

So out of interest- what girls names can you think of that are a bit OTT. Or names that you would have loved to use but were too scared?

Disclaimer - I still want something pretty but simple so this is more to humour DH :)

Tell us what you go for!! Some ace names on here!

Years ago I saw an indie band fronted by a girl called December. I’m SURE it wasn’t her real name but my 16 year old self thought the name was so gothic and cool haha.

Oh and if you DONT go for Sequin, Tinsel or Confetti (how could you not) then Pandora is also an excellent suggestion. My friend by that name goes by Panda, Dora, Panny, and Dory variously un différent groups of friends.

I do love this sort of thread.

soupforbrains · 11/05/2018 19:44

This could be a touch 'outing' but a teen boyfriend of mine was a third child and also a 'hey last Vance let's go wild' named one.

His elder brothers were Matthew Thomas, and Luke Michael.

He on the other hand was Rex Theodore Wolfgang.

I do think that on girls unusual names are more often considered Fabluous and exotic.

Came across an Isadora this week.

I love Valentina and Delilah - had both in my class last year.

I also really love but probably wouldn’t use the name Hero.

JacintaJones · 11/05/2018 21:49

Leocadia or Leocadie.

It is the name of an historic saint but hardly ever used. It was our name for a girl but I'm done so you can have it.
Leocadie is the french version, perhaps could be used as a NN.

A little girl, NN Leo would be absolutely darling!

JacintaJones · 11/05/2018 21:54

Please tell me that somebody has offered you Sheherezade!

catinapoolofsunshine · 11/05/2018 22:10

DD (secondary so I don't know all her classmates any more) was telling me about a girl in her class called Vallerina this afternoon! There was a Valentina last year.

Euphemia ...

A lot of the Shakespearean ones came to such tragic early deaths that would put me off. Not all. Have to pick a character with a happy or strong ending, not a wilting heroine who dies for love or is murdered!

RickOShay · 11/05/2018 22:10

Oksana

Vashti

Anneliese

Desiree
