We are expecting DD no 3 later this year and struggling to think of any names!

DH has declared since she is to be our last he wants to go out with a bang and come up with a completely over the top wonderful name.

So out of interest- what girls names can you think of that are a bit OTT. Or names that you would have loved to use but were too scared?

Disclaimer - I still want something pretty but simple so this is more to humour DH :)

I think someone has already mentioned it but I love Elspeth lately. It sounds very classic and sort of gothic.

theclockticksslowly · 11/05/2018 23:47

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but a name I’ve heard recently that has really grown on me is Celestine.

Shitterton · 11/05/2018 23:53

Phaedra is a pretty and unusual name, as is Fenella.

My sister's name is Hephzibah, named after the little girl in the book 'Silas Marner'. She was called 'Eppie' when she was younger. I think it's a really cute name. Congrats on your third daughter; how wonderful! (My sister was the fourth and last daughter so I guess my parents felt like having a spectacular name final time around too!)

Oleander -partly as any nickname like Olli or Andi are also nice.

Always depends on sounding right with your surname though.

Interestingly ive just noticed my other 2 daughters names having been suggested on this post!

We are putting together a shortlist. But as is always the case i dont like his choices and he doesnt like mine! We will get there in the end though :)
