Ramona.

Love it!

Nell doesn't seem 'complete' to me.

TatianaLarina · 15/04/2018 22:26

Nell - always liked it.

Ramona is not that pretty (don’t like the moan in it or the nns)- prefer Romilly.

Mrsknackered · 15/04/2018 22:26

I love both! I think Ramona though a) because it’s feminine but strong sounding b) because I love the au pair in cold feet Blush

Mrsknackered · 15/04/2018 22:27

FWIW, I know 3 Nell’s. One is Helena, another Ellen and the last Penelope. But all are ALWAYS Nell.

chezmk1988 · 15/04/2018 22:27

Nell. Ramona sounds a little harsher but isn't terrible. I prefer nell/nelly as a nickname for a longer name but nell is adorable

SinglePringle · 15/04/2018 22:27

Nell. Always loved it (and I think it can be an abriviated form of Helen or Ellen if you wanted a longer name).

Trampire · 15/04/2018 22:28

Nell.

I had an Aunt Nellie who was the coolest ever. Prefer Nell to Nellie but it reminds me of her.

FourFriedChickensDryWhiteToast · 15/04/2018 22:29

i really like Ramona tbh.
i met a Ramona back in the late seventies, and have always thought it sounded cool, ofc the Ramones helped too,

TatianaLarina · 15/04/2018 22:49

I prefer the vowels swapped so Romana or Romani.

MadMaryBoddington · 15/04/2018 23:17

Nell.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/04/2018 23:28

Nell as it's short sweet pretty and elegant.

FluffyMcCloud · 15/04/2018 23:30

Oh I adore Ramona! I think maybe because of my love for the Ramona Quimby books Grin

Buntysoven · 15/04/2018 23:40

My dd has Ramona as a middle name. We didn't go with it as a first name as my dh said he would shorten it and didn't like Rammy or Moaner 😒 As it is, he lengthens dd's name. Men!

Winterfield · 15/04/2018 23:42

I’m so torn!

Is Nell in danger of getting v popular do you think?

Sophronia · 16/04/2018 00:06

Ramona

chocatoo · 16/04/2018 00:10

Really like both....and you won’t hear me say that very often on here!

Peachbubble · 16/04/2018 01:47

Nell, as don't like the moan sound in Ramona.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 16/04/2018 01:50

Gorgeous names! Nell (I would prefer short for Penelope) is probably more popular than Ramona I think, but you'd be fine with either.

You can't go wrong, whichever you pick.

manicinsomniac · 16/04/2018 01:51

Ramona - I think it's elegant and quite pretty but would worry a bit about 'Ramona the moaner'

I really don't like Nell. I think it's too short and it doesn't sound pretty/pleasant to me. I like Eleanor, Fenella and Helena?

Madeline18 · 16/04/2018 02:09

Ramona 😊

Kokeshi123 · 16/04/2018 02:59

Ramona.

I like Nell itself, but would worry about it turning into Nellie.....

Copperbonnet · 16/04/2018 03:00

It entirely depends on the surname.

Octave777 · 16/04/2018 03:10

"Nell, as don't like the moan sound in Ramona."

Same.

Pikachuchu · 16/04/2018 03:13

Ramona.

Nell sounds like half a name to me.

PinkAvocado · 16/04/2018 03:20

I love the name Nell! I know just one and hers is never lengthened to Nellie and it is very unlikely you’ll ever get two Nells in a class (it was 345th in last ons so probably won’t be top 50 even if it soared in populrity). I too would have it short for something else such as Helen or Ellen (another name I love!).

Ramona is ok but it’s too like Remoaner-something those of us disappointed with the Brexit vote get called...
