Middle name for Oak

Just had my 20wk scan and confirmed we are having a boy. We had loads of girls names, but no boys names. My DP is Lithuanian, so would like Azuolas which translates into Oak. I really like Oak, but not Azuloas. Name would be Oak, not Oakley.

Can you think of a middle name to go with Oak?

I realise the name Oak is a little unusual and not to most peoples taste. Ideas please?

Veneer?

SinkGirl · 10/04/2018 14:41

Rap.

Definitely go with Rap.

I actually don't mind it Blush

I agree with pp that the middle name should be v traditional, to tone it down a bit...

Oak William
Oak David
Oak George

Saying that, the more you type 'oak', the odder it looks.

Choose a normal different first name, and have Azuloas as the middle name.

MonkeyPoke · 10/04/2018 15:04

Can you imagine the chat up lines?
"Hey lady, have you ever had wood? Because I'm Oak."

NomsQualityStreets · 10/04/2018 15:18

@MonkeyPoke I just choked on my coffee Grin

GertieGitana · 10/04/2018 15:28

*Azuolas, even!

MiniAlphaBravo · 10/04/2018 15:39

Just because dp wants this name doesn’t mean you should use it. Use the Lithuanian name as a middle and something else as a first.

DON'T LISTEN.....OAK IS A COOL NAME.
YOU DON'T NEED A MIDDLE NAME. JUST OAK.

GottaGetThisDone · 10/04/2018 16:06

Go with the Lithuanian name on birth certificate, and call him Oak as a nn or middle name?

DullAndOld · 10/04/2018 16:06

sorry but it doesn't sound like a real name.
If the Lithuanian version is used as a name, then use that.

However, if you insist on it, what about 'Leaf'?

Bluesmartiesarebest · 10/04/2018 16:12

Lahoma?

MessyMcDoogle · 10/04/2018 16:14

Alon is a Hebrew name that means oak tree
Ackley means dwells at the oak tree
Dara means oak tree

Oak reminds me of Pokemon and I can’t get passed it Grin

Failingat40 · 10/04/2018 16:21

Ffs please think of the child before you saddle him with a ridiculous 'name'.

Oak is not a name for a human being. It's a tree, a big fuck off fucking TREE!!!
The translation doesn't work.

PavlovaPrincess · 10/04/2018 16:26

Willow is also a tree and that's become quite popular.

There are plenty of nice flora and fauna names. I just don't think Oak is one of them.

notjudging87 · 10/04/2018 16:31

Thanks for opinions, i realise it is an unusual as put in the initial text and the name is still up for discussion. At the moment we both like it. I am sure I've heard much worse names on here, but have tried not to poo poo others names.

I'd rather not use a Lithuanian first name as it's already difficult for people in the UK to pronounce my partners name (first and surname) and guaranteed if we use Azuloas we would have all sorts of pronunciations.

@windchimesabotage that would be the idea, but struggling with a middle name we both like. In Lithuania it's considered very unusual to have a middle name.

@GilligansKitchenIsland surname will be Lithuanian.

Ok well being one of the very few who like the name Oak, here's some suggestions for middle names:

Elijah
Henry
Arthur
Emerson

LoveInTokyo · 10/04/2018 16:36

Is it Azuolas or Azuloas?

If it’s Azuolas then you might be able to use Oli as a nickname? I honestly think the Lithuanian name sounds better than Oak.

Are there any other names you both like?
