Final list of three names for a boy. Help!

I posted about this a few weeks back, my choice was between Sebastian and Jasper, with my DH having rejected Gabriel. Anyway now he’s decided he likes Gabriel meaning I’m trying to choose between those three and I’m pretty split to be honest.
I got a fair few comments about the names being wet; those sort of comments not a problem, just choose your favourite (least hated) and why if you know!

Sebastian
Jasper
Gabriel.

Thanks.

Sebastian is my favourite of the three and on our list. My only reservations about it are that it seems fairly popular. I like that it seems a good name that'll grow with a baby. 'Seb' is pretty cool for a teenager and Sebastian perfect for when they're prime minister!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/04/2018 16:24

Unfortunately I like them all OP. So I'm no use to you at all!

Greenhouseonthehill · 03/04/2018 16:24

Sebastian is the most popular, it’s 30 something on the top 100 I think. I don’t know any though. I do like seb as a nickname.

For me it's a tie between Sebastian and Jasper.
Sebastian has become quite popular in recent years (but not at all overly popular).

I don't like Gabriel at all. Its a little trying hard to be 'out there'

GinIsIn · 03/04/2018 16:26

LOVE jasper

northside · 03/04/2018 16:27

Love Seb, so one more vote for Sebastian over here!

Fieau · 03/04/2018 16:27

I like jasper the best. It feels a bit more unusual without being strange.

Just remember to check how they sound with the surname/potential issues with initials Grin

GetAwayFromHer · 03/04/2018 16:28

Gabriel by a long chalk

Sebastian is OK

I really dislike Jasper - posh, labrador. Sorry

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 03/04/2018 16:29

Sebastian

GetAwayFromHer · 03/04/2018 16:29

When I think of Gabriel I think strong. Gabriel Oak

The other two do sound wet to me

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 03/04/2018 16:30

Gabriel for me, but I also like Sebastian. I have a lovely friend who goes by Sev. Jasper is ok, and I know a very cute little boy called it, but it makes me think of the Cornish word for wasp. I hate wasps!

LastNightsMakeUp · 03/04/2018 16:33

@Greenhouseonthehill yes I haven't met any either and spend my life at baby/toddler groups

DearMrDilkington · 03/04/2018 16:42

I really like Jasper.

BackforGood · 03/04/2018 16:44

Not really my taste at all, but, as you said in your OP, we can say our 'least hated' Grin , then I'd choose Jasper out of those 3.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 03/04/2018 16:45

I love Jasper and only know one, who is four.

Arapaima · 03/04/2018 16:47

I really like Sebastian.

eggcellent · 03/04/2018 16:50

Sebastian for sure, works for all ages and Seb is such a cute nickname.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/04/2018 16:59

Sebastian.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/04/2018 17:01

Gabriel.

TroubledLichen · 03/04/2018 17:08

I actually like all three but to rank in order of preference: Gabriel, Sebastian, Jasper.

Sebastian is pretty popular though, not that that’s a bad thing but just in case you’re bothered by that. For instance I know a 5 year old Sebastian who is one of 3 in his reception class!

PinkCrystal · 03/04/2018 17:45

Jasper is the best!

AnyaMoondial · 03/04/2018 17:47

Gabriel is my favourite. The full name sounds a little mysterious and the nn Gabe is very cool. And it makes me feel Christmassy!

BettyBooper · 03/04/2018 17:49

In this order:
Sebastian - the Never Ending Story
Gabriel - Supernatural
Jasper - Name of a posh hound

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 03/04/2018 17:50

I like them all, I would choose Jasper.
If it matters to you I know of 5 Sebastians born so far this year.

ChocolateCrunch · 03/04/2018 17:53

Jasper, by a mile

Gabriel makes me think of an angel and also don't like Gabe as a nn. Sebastian is OK in full, but not keen on Seb or Sebby.
