I posted about this a few weeks back, my choice was between Sebastian and Jasper, with my DH having rejected Gabriel. Anyway now he’s decided he likes Gabriel meaning I’m trying to choose between those three and I’m pretty split to be honest.
I got a fair few comments about the names being wet; those sort of comments not a problem, just choose your favourite (least hated) and why if you know!

Sebastian
Jasper
Gabriel.

Thanks.

Not very keen on any of them I'm afraid. Sebastian is probably the best choice I'd say.

Yogagirl123 · 03/04/2018 17:57

I like all of them OP! No help, am I!

IVflytrap · 03/04/2018 18:00

Jasper is my favourite - I like the sound and the meaning. One of the rare male gemstone names. It's strong, "different" but not so much so that it's unfamiliar.

Gabriel is my second favourite.

I've been put off the name Sebastian after being subjected to a condescending posh git with the name. Don't know any kids called Sebastian in my area. Or Jasper or Gabriel, for that matter.

starkid · 03/04/2018 18:07

I like Jasper best, then Sebastian, then Gabriel

DairyisClosed · 03/04/2018 18:09

Sebastian makes me think if Brideshead
Jasper-Jasper Jones
And Gabriel-far from the madding crowd.
In terms of the sound I think Sebastian sounds the nicest but obviously the connotation is a bit sad.

allchangenochange · 03/04/2018 18:11

I like Gabriel best, my ds is friends with one called Gabe at school.

MrsMarigold · 03/04/2018 18:13

Gabriel by a country mile. Sebastian is quite nice, but I'm not keen on Jasper.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 03/04/2018 18:13

Gabriel
Sebastian

Jasper (sorry not keen at all!)

Bel04 · 03/04/2018 18:15

I like Jasper x

Greenhouseonthehill · 03/04/2018 18:44

I’ve done a tally and Jasper is winning by two over Sebastian.

I love Gabriel. The other two are OK, but to me they have a distinctly upper-class vibe, so it probably depends where you live - in some places people might have preconceptions of someone a bit aloof.

TatianaLarina · 03/04/2018 18:50

Unusually for here they’re all great so you can’t go wrong.

Was expecting Elliott, Mason and Carter.

Alyx80 · 03/04/2018 18:50

I like Sebastian but there’s 3 in my son’s class of 18 boys so the popularity puts me off. Gabriel is probably my favourite.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 03/04/2018 18:51

So hard because I love all three but it's got to be:

  1. Jasper
  2. Gabriel
  3. Sebastian

You have excellent taste! Grin

ILikeMyChickenFried · 03/04/2018 18:52

I love Gabriel and thing Gabe is a pretty cool nickname.

Sebastian to me is a red Caribbean voiced crab.

TatianaLarina · 03/04/2018 18:52

I’d go for Gabriel I think. I like Jasper but I ❤️ Gabriel Oak. Love Sebastian but it’s increasingly popular.

displacementofwater · 03/04/2018 18:56

Gabriel. It seems just a little bit different.

YoloThankfully · 03/04/2018 19:01

Jasper, that's what mines going to be called Grin

PavoReal · 03/04/2018 19:03

Jasper. Google ‘famous Jasper’ there is a top 10 of them and they are a cool / good looking bunch. It’s a popular name in Netherlands and Belgium right now(not a bad thing).

my Ds is jasper

AthenaAshton · 03/04/2018 19:04

All lovely. Sorry -no help at all!

pipilangstrumpf · 03/04/2018 19:06

Jasper and Gabriel.

I really dislike Seb (sebaceous) as it sounds so weak and oily imo. Basty isn't much nicer.

leghoul · 03/04/2018 19:11
  1. Jasper
  2. Gabriel

Jasper favourite by far

areyoubeingserviced · 03/04/2018 19:14

Gabriel

BikeRunSki · 03/04/2018 19:14

Gabriel

I adore Gabriel. It’s what dd would have been it’s she’d been a DS.

daisypond · 03/04/2018 20:09

Gabriel - by miles. Sebastian just makes me think of Sebastian Coe and Seb as a nickname is horrid (sebaceous). Jasper is just a bit wet.
