Which is nicest out of those 3 names? I also like Aurora, Pixie and Wren

My favourite is Florence but it’s just too popular Sad

it seems to be old cows too. not sure if that makes it better or worse...

Effie the cow.

I'm not saying they can't be names for people too.... but..... for me, it's like calling someone "Rover"

Toddlerteaplease · 01/03/2018 13:30

Baby calves was the first thing I thought of as well. Go with Florence!

YoumeandlittleP · 01/03/2018 13:30

OP I love your name choices and you have 3 of the same ones that were on the list for our second, but he's a boy.

Don't go off any of them.

And I had no idea about the cow references and doubt a lot of people do!

RavenWings · 01/03/2018 13:58

And I had no idea about the cow references and doubt a lot of people do!

Considering that a huge amount of people on here are saying the names make them think of barnyard animals, that really doesn't seem to be the case.

OP honestly I think Florence is the best of your options.

andhardlyanywomenatall · 01/03/2018 14:38

Isn’t Florence the cow in The Magic Roundabout though.

I don’t like the idea of a lifetime of people saying “don’t worry dear, I don’t think of your name and cows at allL”

andhardlyanywomenatall · 01/03/2018 14:41

Ah, I stand corrected. Florence was a girl. The cow was called Ermintrude.

User278832 · 01/03/2018 14:42

Loads of names are associated with animals. It’s not a big deal imo.

andhardlyanywomenatall · 01/03/2018 14:45

It’s a big deal when it’s your name.

User278832 · 01/03/2018 14:52

My name is heavily related with a ‘thing’ it’s never bothered me a jot.

Cloudhopping · 01/03/2018 14:52

I think you need to consider how those names would suit your dd when she's an adult and not a cute toddler.

andhardlyanywomenatall · 01/03/2018 14:53

Yes, people who were never teased for their name don’t get it.......

User278832 · 01/03/2018 14:59

I know a William that got called ‘Willy Bum’ and got teased. But that doesn’t stop people picking it because potentially a child might think of a stupid association.

SuburbanRhonda · 01/03/2018 14:59

Effie was quite popular after the character in Skins season 1, but it was a nickname.

Aurora could be difficult for her (and her friends) to say as a young child, especially if she can’t say her Rs 😂

MikeUniformMike · 01/03/2018 18:12

I don't like any of them. Florence is OK and Aurora is nice but it isn't really usable. Pixie is a nn and Wren is a brand of fitted kitchens.
Effie is effin awful.
