Which is nicest out of those 3 names? I also like Aurora, Pixie and Wren

My favourite is Florence but it’s just too popular Sad

I love Blossom! I love the James Taylor song if you know it?

toffee1000 · 28/02/2018 21:14

Florence or Aurora are the best. Effie isn’t great, it’s usually short for something. Bluebell and Blossom are names for cats/cows. I don’t like Wren, it’s a type of bird to me, not a name.

greendale17 · 28/02/2018 21:15

Florence or Pixie

Effie and Bluebell are awful names

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 28/02/2018 21:23

I know a Wren, and it’s a name that has really grown on me. I really like Florence, although one little girl’s parents have shortened it to Flossie, which I’m not so keen on! Blossom, definitely no. Bluebell, I think awful for a grown woman. Effie just makes me think of effing.

tinkywinky2018 · 28/02/2018 21:25

Blossom or Bluebell? Are you naming a child or a dairy cow?

Joeybee · 28/02/2018 21:27

I think they are all terrible name tbh. The are nice nicknames for something, but are too cutesy to be taken seriously as names in their own right. Aurora is the only name on your list which is nice and doesn't sound like a cat!

LilacClouds · 28/02/2018 21:56

Effie is just such a weak name. It's like a half-hearted nickname, or the shortening of a nickname. A bit like what's left over from starting with Francesca - Frankie - Fran - F - Effie.

It is just so meh. It's not even strong enough to dislike properly.

Of your list, I like Bluebell then Blossom. Florence isn't as overly popular as you think (I don't think) but it is more mainstream than Bluebell or Blossom. But anything's better than Effie.

Sparklesdontshine · 28/02/2018 22:12

I already have a Rosie and a Willow. I'm going off Blossom and Effie after all the hate for it 🤣

The only ones I like from your list are Florence and Wren.

The rest are completely unusable.

MrsElvis · 28/02/2018 22:20

I'd go with your favourite and stuff if it's popular - which I don't think it is!

mathanxiety · 01/03/2018 01:22

The names are all 'hard to carry off' as my mum would say.

With Rosie and Willow (lovely names), how about another nature, floral or tree-inspired name but not too obvious?

Seren (star in Welsh)
Cecily (a herb)
Daphne (means laurel)
Marguerite/Rita (means daisy)
Jessamine/Jasmine
Keziah/Cassia
Opal
Sylvie (refers to sylvan/ woodland)
Eden
Saffron
Zoe
Linnea
Aven

Or a nod to the season?
June (if born in June)
Summer
Soleil

Florence is lovely. The rest are...not.

Iwasjustabouttosaythat · 01/03/2018 01:34

If you love Florence just do it. She will own the name do it’s irrelevant if other people have the same name. As it goes, I know a few Willows but no Florences.

Aurora is my fave but Florence is nice. When at s stretch but not the other three. Please don’t name a human Bluebell.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/03/2018 08:29

I like Wren and Pixie.

SingedChinchilla · 01/03/2018 09:15

Oh the image of a strong-willies and fleshy girl has really made me chuckle!

Semilunar22 · 01/03/2018 09:19

Please not blossom or bluebell- I chose these as names for my kittens I got for my birthday when I was 7. I named them ‘powerfull girl’ themed names. I feel that these were silly names even for cats!

Wren is nice. Pixie and Effie are pretty but don’t feel complete- feel like they should be nicknames for a ‘fuller’ name.

Semilunar22 · 01/03/2018 09:20

*powerpuff

Helsingborg · 01/03/2018 09:59

No not Effie as it's too close to the swear word 'effing this & effing' that comes to mind.

As lovely as your other two choices are they strike me toddler names only not names for an adult woman. You are naming an adult as well as a child sp please consider this.

Florence Bluebell
Florence Blossom are both lovely combinations of your preferred names.

I know more Aurora's than Florence's! But I love Bluebell and Blossom

andhardlyanywomenatall · 01/03/2018 10:06

Op you know these are all traditional names for cows?

ajb17 · 01/03/2018 10:14

I love them all!

MrsElvis · 01/03/2018 10:21

Wren is lovely and you can imagine it going from childhood to adulthood

Elektro · 01/03/2018 10:22

They remind me of the powerpuff girls 🙈

Elektro · 01/03/2018 10:23

Oh sorry @seeingdots didn't realise you'd said the same!
