So having decided on Tasmin, our dd hugged my tummy today and said "My Darla". Meant darling of course but after a quick Google I found it's a real old English name. DH and I jokingly said dd's named her sister but it's really grown on both of us and it's a cute story to tell her when she's older. We don't discuss names with others IRL so what do you think of Darla? DD is Nancy and I really like the way they sound together...I think!

Yes Nancy and Darla do sound good together.

ohfourfoxache · 28/02/2018 01:56

I love it

Sweetiedarlingletmein · 28/02/2018 01:58

It’s lovely and especially as her little sister would have named her.

chezmk1988 · 28/02/2018 07:32

Nancy and Darla sounds nicer and classier than Tasmin imo

Rainbowsandflowers78 · 28/02/2018 07:35

People will hear Carla but Darla is an ok name

Kit2015 · 28/02/2018 07:37

I think it's a lovely name with an adorable story. I like it much more than tasmin.

Countingsheeeep · 28/02/2018 07:41

Love Darla...makes me think of the little Rascal's.

17caterpillars1mouse · 28/02/2018 07:48

I prefer Darla to Tasmin

Ginger1982 · 28/02/2018 07:55

I like Darla, but does remind me of the vampire in Buffy and Angel!

Justcake · 28/02/2018 07:59

Beautiful! And they go so well together

macbethh · 28/02/2018 08:00

I love this!

Mummyontherun86 · 28/02/2018 08:04

I think of Darla in buffy (who is a mentally deranged vampire!) but I think that’s a cult/minority thing and if I met a real person with the name I’m sure it would quickly push that from my mind!

DeadButDelicious · 28/02/2018 08:04

Love it. Nancy and Darla. Perfect.

OliviaStabler · 28/02/2018 08:10

Love Darla

Slimefactory · 28/02/2018 08:12

It’s a cute story but I don’t love the name. What about Dahlia, v similar to what your DD said but slightly prettier?

Sarahh2014 · 28/02/2018 08:19

Darla is much nicer than tasmin

numptynuts · 28/02/2018 08:22

That's too good of a story not to do it. And love it as well.

Thelampshadelady · 28/02/2018 08:22

I actually really like it.

indigo13 · 28/02/2018 08:22

Love it. Reminds me of The Little Rascals and it was on my list

Idontdowindows · 28/02/2018 08:26

Darla is so sweet, and what a lovely story for the two of them to take with them into adulthood :)

Flashinggreen · 28/02/2018 08:27

Tasmin looks like Tamsin spelt wrong, and my iPad keeps autocorrecting to Yasmin. I like Darla!

Mrsmadevans · 28/02/2018 08:27

Lovely !

DailyMailFail101 · 28/02/2018 08:28

Yes I like it a lot! I had a friend at school named Darla.

chocatoo · 28/02/2018 08:29

One of the few on here that I am happy to say I like! Suitable for a child and an adult. I often think that parents give no thought as to what if a daughter isn't a 'pretty, cutesy' adult when they name girls.

fudgiebutt · 28/02/2018 08:30

I know a little Darla and it's such a beautiful name. Go for it!
