Am daydreaming about another DC. DD has a name from Roman mythology which we love (Juno). If we have another DD, I'm thinking perhaps we should also give her a goddess name for fairness.

I like Iris (Greek, rainbows) but worry it's too popular (we have a very common surname as well so would like to steer clear of top 10 if possible) and Diana (Roman, hunting) but is it too associated with the late princess of Wales?

What do you think, wise ones? Any other ideas?

Hestia is a beautiful name but possibly not a very feminist choice (goddess of hearth and home).

Artemis is Diana's Greek equivalent but I find the name sounds masculine.

Iris is nowhere near not top ten nationally! Is there a local spike in popularity? I don't think that's replicated across the country though I can see that local popularity could be an issue.

Aphrodite - though I don't think she got on with Juno Grin.

Minerva - though now closely associated with Harry Potter.

Iris is gorgeous. It’s only no 84 in England and Wales so a very long way from the top ten.

Athena, Ariadne, Artemis, Aphrodite, cleopatra (ok, not a Greek goddess but still pretty awesome and could be Cleo for a NN?), Persephone, Selene, Dione.

Love Juno!

Also love Iris but it definitely seems to be getting a lot more popular - it was my chosen girls name for what is now DS2, but I know two smaller Irises now.
Luna is still a bit trendy but less popular
Or if you don't mind keeping to mythology but going beyond goddesses (or going with Greek ones)
Clio - I love this one but DH made car jokes

Silvia
Leda (ok the story is odd but the name is nice)

I've always thought Ariadne was a lovely name

I've not met an Iris personally so don't see it as too popular

Freya, Diana, Kali, Rhiannon, Hestia, Persephone, Juno, Ceridwen. Maybe not Isis.

@gingergenius sorry, thought it was a joke because of Kali the Destroyer - certainly a goddess, but not I think a name that people with a Hindu background would consider as a child's name. www.ancient.eu/Kali/
Certainly a very strong namesake though!

I really like Iris, Flora and Minerva.

I think Iris is lovely as are a lot of the other suggestions here.I also like Brigid and it's variants (Bridget, Breeshey).

Not a fan of Diana personally, I find Di/the die sound unpleasant.
