Opinions/ middle names for Rogue

I have been looking for names for a little while. I want something unusual thats not going to crop up everywhere and Rogue is the only name ive really fallen in love with! I would use it for either a boy or a girl. Middle name for a boy would be John after a family member, but im worried Rogue John sounds a bit like a dodgy curry! Middle names for a girl would either be Evangeline, joan or Elizabeth. Does anyone have any opinions/suggestions/alternatives? (No Rogans or logans please!)

my comment is nowhere near as disgusting as you considering naming your child Rouge. If you get so offended by a comment, you really shouldn't name a child something as stupid as Rouge. Because you are lumbering the poor child with those assumption forever

What about Lovable Rogue?

I thought they should have been placed higher than 4th on BGT to be honest @DarthArts

Viviennemary · 28/01/2018 22:09

Rogue Marie. Seriously just don't.

BakedBeans47 · 28/01/2018 22:10

Rogue Fanny?

slippermaiden · 28/01/2018 22:13

Upthread OP you mentioned disliking the name Ewan....it means "born of the Yew tree " and in Greek it means "well-born" it doesn't compare to Rogue, which would be a great name for a pet not a child!

Atticusss · 28/01/2018 22:20

Gosh everyone's being a bit cruel. Next time if you want to discuss a potential unusual name it's always best to post it in the actual thread. Otherwise when it shows up in active posts everyone who despises different names will be all over it.

I don't think it's so terrible. I love Ares and Eris (God/Godess of war and strife) and I love other similar names. I know an adult Pirate, and a Storm. I thought of X Men when I saw the post. Personally I think John and Jane don't work at all as middle names. I'd lose that idea.

What about Philanderer, can be shortened to Phil.

tygr · 28/01/2018 22:21

Rogue John is Honest John's twin brother, who went off the rails when they were in their teens and now encourages people to buy cut and shut cars. Grin

What about Brogue? unique, sounds and looks like Rogue and lots of opportunities for potential sibling names, Wellington, Trainer, Doc, Galosh, Flipflop..........

AnakinCyberwalker · 28/01/2018 22:27

Rogue = dishonest or unprincipled. It's an insult to your DC. Literally.

MiddleClassProblem · 28/01/2018 22:27

Well actually Wolverine was called James just to confuse things.

Wolverine named himself Logan as Anna Marie named herself Rogue. Logan is referredtl as Logan a lot but Anna Marie is just Rogue.

SymphonyofShadows · 28/01/2018 22:30

The most interesting, quirky and alternative person I know is called Janet.

Have you considered Sutcliffe, Hitler or Shipman? They are quite unusual.

Bloomed · 28/01/2018 22:34

@tygr do they know PigletJohn?

SmilingButClueless · 28/01/2018 22:35

Brody / Brodie has a bit of a similar sound to Rogue

LordBuckley · 28/01/2018 22:39

To the PP who suggested Renna - it means "reindeer" in Italian.

Robyn578 · 28/01/2018 22:48

The names i consider for my child are MY choice. Just as the names you chose for your children are YOUR choice. That does not mean im any more or less of a parent than anybody else. Think you should consider climbing down off your high horse. I asked for opinions, not insults.

Rogue Chin Hair.

peachypetite · 28/01/2018 22:52

Robyn isn't it better people tell you how bad it is now, it's what all your friends and family will be thinking!

BackforGood · 28/01/2018 22:58

Of courser they are your choice. However, you asked for opinions on a baby names thread....... that tends to lead to - rather unsurprisingly - people giving their opinions. Hmm

ObiJuanKenobi · 28/01/2018 22:58

Rogan? That's similar and more of a 'name'

DarthArts · 28/01/2018 23:02

Sorry OP but frankly I do think you are less of a parent if you intentionally saddle a child with a ridiculous name for the reason of wanting to prove your "non normal" cool credentials.

Having an unusual name is not an issue - I have one myself - but it is a "rare name" (and in my case a family name historically) not a random word with negative connotations my parents liked the sound of without consideration of a lifetime's worth of piss taking.

BakedBeans47 · 28/01/2018 23:05

Honestly OP if you’re this sensitive now imagine how much worse it would be getting these kind of comments when the poor kid was actually saddled with the name. No one has insulted you, we’ve given our opinions which are almost universal that the name is dreadful, and it’s likely that view will be mirrored IRL

UndomesticHousewife · 28/01/2018 23:05

People are giving their opinions as you’ve asked. Unfortunately you don’t like these opinions on your name choice.
The name isn’t great. You can name your child whatever you choose, but no one (here anyway) thinks it’s a good choice.

BakedBeans47 · 28/01/2018 23:06

Also what does your partner think of Rogue?
