Opinions/ middle names for Rogue

I have been looking for names for a little while. I want something unusual thats not going to crop up everywhere and Rogue is the only name ive really fallen in love with! I would use it for either a boy or a girl. Middle name for a boy would be John after a family member, but im worried Rogue John sounds a bit like a dodgy curry! Middle names for a girl would either be Evangeline, joan or Elizabeth. Does anyone have any opinions/suggestions/alternatives? (No Rogans or logans please!)

How about Radge?

Or to continue the Scottish theme, what about Jakey or Bam?

Flabbermingo · 30/01/2018 09:25

"I had a really bad date the other day, he pulled out his Rogue John in the taxi'"

Rogue is the only name ive really fallen in love with

But it's not actually name.
It's really not.

liquidrevolution · 30/01/2018 11:04

My friend is an Arwen. She's lovely.

Rogue is awful. So glad OP is going back to the drawing board so long as she keeps posting bonkers names every now and then

Tears streaming down my face and hysterically laughing (cat is looking oddly at me) at:-

Rogue runner
Rogue-Ann josh
Rogue radge
Rogue Juan

Nominations for classics?

On a more serious note I do know someone with a dog called rogue. It suits him.

Actually spat out my tea. Wins thread.

What about Cretin? Miscreant? They are similar. Or for a similar sound... Toad?

Littleraincloud · 30/01/2018 11:32

Such a weird fashion to name children random words.

ShowMeTheElf · 30/01/2018 11:32

OP: I think there are enough people pointing out that the dictionary definition of Rogue probably makes it unsuitable in most people's eyes. Herewith some unusual/sci-fi names that you may also like:
Storm
Leia
Anakin
Flash
Han
Chiana
River
Cal
Hal
Romo
Lemuel
Sorsha
Kael
Nelwyn

Keep looking: you will find something that you love. Good hunting!

How about Roger?

Pansiesandredrosesandmarigolds · 30/01/2018 12:07

Rogue is an excellent middle name. Not a first name.

Rogue John Smith - godawful

John Rogue Smith - awesome.

Mrsknackered · 30/01/2018 13:02

Rogue Juan

Shmithecat · 30/01/2018 13:17

There's a reason it's not common OP. Because it's bloody awful.

DPotter · 30/01/2018 13:23

I typed in Cafe Rogue into my phone, and the predictive text came back with Rough. Rogue is not a name; it's a word with negative meanings. You would be saddling your child with at best a name he would have to spell out and explain (Yeah I know. Mum thought it would be cool) and at worst be the subject of sniggers and mockery.
Please seriously seriously re-consider

wowfudge · 30/01/2018 16:30

Glad you are having a rethink OP. It's not actually name and has such awful connotations.

As for the boy called Raider, he'd have to be called Twix in the UK, surely?

Bandit is the name of Gerard Way's daughter ( my chemical romance)..same sort of connotations. But I wouldn't choose either.

user1485182339 · 31/01/2018 16:52

So, I've read through the OP's comments, and most of the others, but I can't seem to figure out if perhaps the OP meant 'rouge' rather than 'rogue'? How are you pronouncing it OP?

kaytee87 · 31/01/2018 20:08

I think people forget their babies are actual human beings that will go through school, life, work etc having to use their name every day. A child is not a cute little accessory that you can call a stupid 'name' because it's 'yooneeek', they actually have to live with it.

kaytee87 · 31/01/2018 20:09

@user1485182339 she means rogue. She said upthread she was aware of the meaning when it was pointed out,
