Hi, I've posted on here quite abit lately so sorry inadvance! I'm so indecisive!

So I've fallen in love with the name Logan for a girl😍😍 but I'm thinking maybe it would be best to have it double-barralled so it's clearly she's a girl!

Anyone got any ideas of double barrel for Logan?

TIA xx

It's awful for a boy, and utterly dire for a girl.

It has an ugly sound.

AstridWhite · 20/01/2018 05:25

I don't like Logan for a boy or a girl but I think hyphenating it with something girly makes it even worse.

AstridWhite · 20/01/2018 05:26

And looking at that list Patal suggested just confirms it.

BattleCuntGalactica · 20/01/2018 05:28

I like it.

nooka · 20/01/2018 05:31

I don't like surnames as first names for boys and really dislike them for girls. Logan = Wolverine to me (and probably lots of other people given the success of the X-Men franchise and in particular the movie Logan which only came out last year). Having said that there is undoubtedly a trend of giving girls surnames for first names so I doubt that a little girl called Logan will be unusual enough to be bullied for it.

Double barrelling it IMO is a very bad idea, all the combinations suggested look very odd indeed and hyphenated names (unless you are from a country where they are the norm) are generally seen as a bit trashy.

Rtmhwales · 20/01/2018 05:57

Logan is a completely unisex name where I’m from in North America so if you love it just go for it. I cringe at some of the tasteful British names I hear over here so I’m all for Logan for a girl.

TheDowagerCuntess · 20/01/2018 06:45

For God's sake, leave the name alone. There is no need to hyphenate it.

TheDowagerCuntess · 20/01/2018 06:47

I mean, seriously. Logan-Isabel? Logan-Harriet...?! 😵

Unnoticed · 20/01/2018 06:54

The hyphenated names above are all truly awful, but that can be said of all double barrelled first names - tacky and I judge the parents of the poor kids who have them.

Logan is dire on it’s own for a girl and not great for a boy either.

AnElderlyLadyOfMediumHeight · 20/01/2018 06:56

What squoosh said.

And personally I am of the view that there are going to be a lot of young adults out there in the future resenting their parents for following this 'surname' trend, particularly the girls. Literally thousands of lovely girls' names to choose from and you think the best of the bunch is Logan?

Timmytoo · 20/01/2018 07:05

Love the name Logan for a girl much more than a guy.

Goes well as Logan-Leigh or Logan-May

Ihatemarmite123 · 20/01/2018 07:07

I don't like it for a girl and hyphanating it is awful. Sorry, just my opinion.

But, your dd will be growing up with plenty of other kids with odd names so she's going to blend in if you decide to go with it

timeforabrewnow · 20/01/2018 07:08

love it - just 'Logan'

Unusual and quirky - great if your new daughter can be both!

Ihatemarmite123 · 20/01/2018 07:08

Logan-leigh is the worst!

Unnoticed · 20/01/2018 07:12

Logan is a dull surname - there is nothing unusual or quirky about it.

pipilangstrumpf · 20/01/2018 07:42

I know a female Logan.

It's no different to Cameron, Alex, Dylan. People quickly associate a name with a person.

Lovelybigboots · 20/01/2018 07:45

No. It’s ugly.

Lauren1x · 20/01/2018 08:24

I personally love it! I want a name that's different, I also love names like Isabelle, Ava etc but there so common she'll end up with 5 kids in her class with the same name! And I really dislike names like Daisy, Anna, Florence, Penelope, Harper!!

Logan sounds so... council estate

Lauren1x · 20/01/2018 08:39

Whats saying I don't live in a council estate, some people are so rude...

Logan just makes me think of wolverine in X-Men.

It's a mans name and not even a nice one at that. As for calling a baby girl that...just no!

UserSnoozer · 20/01/2018 09:54

When did a word have a penis or vagina? Is it written with a man flag on it claiming it only for men? No. I love it for a girl along side Tony (spelt like that) and Danny etc

GinIsIn · 20/01/2018 09:58

I think it’s terrible personally, but if it’s the name you want to use, don’t try to “frilly” it up by tacking something girlie on the end! Either use it and own it, or pick something else.

RavenLG · 20/01/2018 10:00

Logan for a girl is a lovely name.

Perhaps those suggesting they will get bullied should teach their children not to bully others?! Just s thought

villamariavintrapp · 20/01/2018 10:01

It's not an uncommon name though, there may well be others in her class, but they'll be boys. She'll be known as 'girl-logan' which is double barrelled I suppose..
