All of those are brilliant, use them all

horatioisabrick · 05/01/2018 15:04

Fintan :)

RatherBeRiding · 05/01/2018 15:05

I LOVE Titus! It's definitely not used enough.

NannyR · 05/01/2018 15:21

Titus is a great name.

Glowerglass · 05/01/2018 15:22

Ossian
Atticus
Sholto

BertrandRussell · 05/01/2018 15:25

Are you sure about Titus? The Tit bit might put me off, particularly in a name a lot of his little friends won't have come across before......

MrsFantastic · 05/01/2018 15:26

Something else.

BertrandRussell · 05/01/2018 15:27

I'll try it on ds later........

oldbirdy · 05/01/2018 15:28

I adore the name Titus, but could never use it, it sounds like "tight-arse" and has 'tit' in it.

Fintan is good!

ILookedintheWater · 05/01/2018 15:30

Isn't Fintan what that dog that chased all the deer across the park called? When I hear Fintan in my head it in the voice of an angry running man yelling 'Fintan, Fintan, Jesus Christ!' So no, I wouldn't call a baby that.

Titus and Tudor are both unusual; in fact I din't think I know any at all.

TeenTimesTwo · 05/01/2018 15:32

Something else.
Finlay, Timothy, Thomas.

horatioisabrick · 05/01/2018 15:45

The ‘tight’ in Titus is a bit unfortunate imo. And the nn ‘Titty’...

Fintan is nice. Thorfinn, Tobias, Thomas, Terrence, Taurus (maybe a bight too unusual? bullish...?),Tristan?

LovelyBranches · 05/01/2018 15:56

Fintan is lovely and Finn as a nn is great. Titus is too much of a dogs name.

ButtonPress · 05/01/2018 15:56

This is a joke post right?

RatherBeRiding · 05/01/2018 16:01

The dog chasing the deer in Richmond Park was Fenton. Titus was the name of Titus Salt, the great Victorian industrialist who built Saltaire, Salts Mill etc near Bradford. Why would this be a joke post? Confused

BertrandRussell · 05/01/2018 16:02

Just asked ds what he would think if a Titus joined his form. For context, he is a 16 year old posh boy with nice manners and his best friend is called Dimitri, with no obvious Russian connections! And he would not dream of commenting if he actually met a Titus. He laughed. I asked if it was the Tit or the Tightarse. He said neither, although now I mentioned them they were both quite funny. He laughed because “ We’re not in bloody Ancient Rome-it’s next level hilarious middle class tomfoolery”. Which I think I want printed on a T shirt.....

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 05/01/2018 16:03

Something else (sorry).

I know a few Fintans in Ireland, but I’ve never liked the name. How about Fionn or Finbar?

Tudor just reminds me of the war of the roses, horrible executions etc, so I wouldn’t like to name a child that.

Titus as in Andronicus? Nope, not great associations there either for me.

ButtonPress · 05/01/2018 16:06

Why would this be a joke post?

Because they're ridiculous. I find it hard to believe someone would actually seriously name their child any one of them.
Anyway just my opinion. If they do name their child one of them then people will be too polite to laugh until they are at home.

But I still think this is a joke post.

Davespecifico · 05/01/2018 16:10

No to all 3. Have you got any more names?

MrsPestilence · 05/01/2018 16:12

Grin I know them all, have you considered Carden?

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 05/01/2018 16:14

I'm also saying joke post.

TheOnlyWaysTitsUp · 05/01/2018 16:15

I love Titus!

Not so bothered about Fintan because of the likelihood of becoming one of many Finns around, but I prefer it to Finlay. I love that it's both traditional and unusual, but just don't like the likely nickname.

Tudor, ok but not a fan.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/01/2018 16:16

Not Titus. tight as your arse. Or Tit.

Fintan is ok, but I really like Finn.
