I don't think I've ever seen Nicola mentioned. There were lots in my generation. Maybe it will be back in 5-10 years when we start to become grannies.

I have a Kirsty. The only other Kirstys she has come across have been at least in their late 20s/early 30s. She is also constantly fed up as nowhere ever does anything with her name on it.

Mind you she was nearly Rhiannon as DP and I were listening to a lot of Fleetwood Mac when she was conceived!

There were several Kirstys when I was at school but that was many years ago in Scotland.

AJPTaylor · 06/01/2018 20:17

I have a Kirsty too! Age 10. She is the only child she knows with the name and has been to 2 different primaries. Do wonder if its more common in Scotland.

ladystarkers · 06/01/2018 20:19

Abby Clancy jusr had a baby Jonny

0to3sadonions · 06/01/2018 20:22

I have a baby Leonard!

My nephews are Tony and Mark, they’re 4 and 5 now.

I know a toddler Suzanne, a teenage Lisa and a baby Muriel Grin

ladystarkers · 06/01/2018 20:23

I know a 9 year old Suzanna nn Suzie

NaughtyNoraTheNamechanger · 06/01/2018 21:44

I'm in Scotland and know a good few Kirsty's, ranging from 14 to about 35.

Others are:
Katherine, Kathryn
Jan, Jane, Janet, Janice.
Shona (I know a lot of adult Shona's)
Lynn, Linda
Susan, Suzie, Suzanne, Susanna
Christina
Margaret (both my grandmothers had this name)
Marion, Marie, Maria
Kim, Kimberley
Sarah (the youngest Sarah I know is 15)
Paula
Tanya.

Keith
James
Michael
Steven, Steve, (and Stephen is even less common)
Paul
Alan
John
Joe
Lee.

Oh my goodness I obviously know far far more women than men!

CountTessa · 06/01/2018 21:46

My kids were gobsmacked to discover they have a relative called Lorraine. They thought she must be Victorian!

NaughtyNoraTheNamechanger · 06/01/2018 21:47

Oh I forgot some really obvious ones:
Fiona
Alison
Claire
Karen.

I feel like Christopher/Chris is also getting less popular.

NC4now · 06/01/2018 21:55

Surprised by Rachel. It’s my name and although I’m in my 40s, I know Rachels as young as 10.
I’ve always thought of it as fairly timeless.
Am I just kidding myself that my name moves with the times? Grin

There are quite a few James at my kids primary school, although it's a couple of years since I heard of a baby called James. There are a couple of Kathryn/Catherines too.

bettyboo90 · 06/01/2018 22:52

My mums name was Diane, if I have a daughter one day I'd like to have it as a tribute in some way but not come across many Diane's over the years!

I know lots of Jane's in their 40's, Hannah's/Claire's in 20/30's

BelfortGabbz · 07/01/2018 09:21

I think Rachel is timeless and lovely.

Suffering from being very popular 20 years ago, it will bounce back soon after a rest.

CaptainCabinets · 12/01/2018 22:13

I was delighted to meet a 12yo Trevor today! And he so didn't look like a Trevor so it was even more endearing.

Wayfarersonbaby · 12/01/2018 23:08

I have a Bethany and know someone else with one a couple of years younger.
Also know a 2 year old Kenneth.

Rarer names that spring to mind for me are Mark, Michael, Hannah, Jennifer & Georgia.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 13/01/2018 00:48

I know a 1 year old Georgia, getting quite popular again I think. I personally know a

Kenny (Kenneth)
Abe (Abraham)
Giovanna
Paul (one a teen, one an adult)

All names you don't hear much now and other than the teen Paul they're all over 20

Lots of Natalie's when I was at school, also Rebeccas
