I don't think I've ever seen Nicola mentioned. There were lots in my generation. Maybe it will be back in 5-10 years when we start to become grannies.

In the last few years I have known babies called Sarah, Lisa, Rebecca, Christopher and Raymond. Nobody seems to be called Lee, Ian or Tim anymore and we had loads at school!

MrsPeel1 · 04/01/2018 17:44

My daughter has a name that s very Damian and doesn’t seem unusual really (not a retro name either) and yet there were only 16 babies given her name in 2016.

I’ve spent too much time on the mirror ‘how popular is your baby name calculator’ checking the names of all of my family and friends... not sure if this link will work: www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/family/how-popular-your-baby-name-11211651

DharmaInitiativeLady · 04/01/2018 17:45

I have a 2 year old Anna Smile

MrsPeel1 · 04/01/2018 17:46

Fecking autocorrect

Bethany isn't so unusual. It's in the top 100 mind you so are both Sarah and Victoria

Yes Nicola is one of the ultimate once-everywhere now GONE names. I don't think it will ever come back - it's not nice at all.

Amanda

Lisa

Julie

Martin

Paul

Mark

FizzyGreenWater · 04/01/2018 19:07

And Steve!

No more Steves.

leccybill · 04/01/2018 19:30

Nothing wrong with Nicola!

I hear of plenty of young Nicoles though.

BoredOnMatLeave · 04/01/2018 19:41

DD middle name is Nicola, after my mum. Your probably right, she's a young Nanny but in 10-15 years I think it will be more popular again

MikeUniformMike · 04/01/2018 19:49

Nicola is much better than Nicole.
