Really leaning towards a kind of unisex name now and I'm very drawn to Lennox for my baby girl. She's due 7th March but my last came early so honest opinions most welcome as struggling so much to decide (my turn this time as partner decided for last daughter).

Thanks all Smile

I would say that Lennox was a boy's name, rather than unisex. I can only think of Lennox Lewis.

Slipperqueen3 · 18/12/2017 13:39

“As in Annie?”

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 18/12/2017 13:39

Lennox isn't unisex. And it's awful.

pallisers · 18/12/2017 13:40

Don't like Lennox.

I know a baby girl called Larkin

Slipperqueen3 · 18/12/2017 13:43

“As in Phillip?”

gunsandbanjos · 18/12/2017 13:43

Nope, dreadful.

BrutusMcDogface · 18/12/2017 13:44

Lennox is a boy's name through and through, I'm afraid.

Dylan? Cameron? Jamie? These are unisex names imo.

BrutusMcDogface · 18/12/2017 13:46

Maybe you could have Lennie as a nickname for another name....like....um.....don't know! Lena is lovely? I know it's not unisex but has the "len" bit in it.

BrutusMcDogface · 18/12/2017 13:46

Also I know a big massive dog called Lennox. Doesn't strike me as a name for a little baby girl! Grin

BlazingPaddles · 18/12/2017 13:47

Lennox seems very masculine to me because of the aforementioned Lennox Lewis. He's the only person I can think of with Lennox as a first name.

ladystarkers · 18/12/2017 13:51

In the USA it would work. Here? Nope. That said its your choice. Its quite harsh sounding even for a boy.

Unisex names, Billie, Sam, Ronnie, Alex, Charlie, Jo, Jamie, Elliott

ladystarkers · 18/12/2017 13:52

I know a girl called Reggie-Rose, I like that, think the Rose takes the edge off? Also Teddy.

Hmmalittlefishy · 18/12/2017 13:53

I agree with the above it's a masculine name.
Also everytime I hear it I think of Davis Walliams in the rock profile sketch saying 'lennox' that could just be me though! Xmas Blush

BlazingPaddles · 18/12/2017 13:54

'I know a girl called Reggie-Rose, I like that, think the Rose takes the edge off?'

Grin Grin

No.

BlazingPaddles · 18/12/2017 13:55

Ronnie-Grace

RusholmeRuffian · 18/12/2017 13:55

Don't do it.

pallisers · 18/12/2017 13:55

“As in Phillip?”

I said "oh, after the poet?" and they looked at me blankly. had never heard of him :)

Daisymay2 · 18/12/2017 14:00

Definately a boy's name and unattracive IMO.
Some good suggestions above- also Hilary, ( as in Benn or Mantell) Kim,Lee , Frances ,Lesley can be used for boys or girls. ( Obviously Frances and Lesley have different spelling for boys)

FarAwayFromLand · 18/12/2017 14:01

Alex? With Lex as a nick name? Sort of similar sound.

xmasgrinch · 18/12/2017 14:03

It's a fairly popular boys name in my home country.

Marv1nGay3 · 18/12/2017 14:05

Lexi is nicer?

Slipperqueen3 · 18/12/2017 14:06

Pallisers that’s what happened when I met the mother of Anäis. “Nin? The House of Incest?” Horrified and disgusted looks, followed by “Gallagher.”

She also pronounced it “Annay.” Thicket.

SpikeGilesSandwich · 18/12/2017 14:13

Have you been watching Melissa and Joey OP? There's a teen girl called Lennox in that. I thought it was strange at first but it has grown on me,

MrsFoxPlus4 · 18/12/2017 14:16

One of my favourite girls names is Lux pronounced lucks.

Heard it on a tv serious called life’s unexpected.

I like lennox.

glitterbiscuits · 18/12/2017 14:17

Please don’t.

Unisex names to me tend to be girls with boys names. It never seems to go the opposite way.
Apart from in the song A Boy Named Sue and he didn’t like his name
