Inevitable that it'll turn into BashDashAndFerdinand in your head once the child is old enough to watch Thomas the tank. They're really really annoying.

Its an expression of annoyance/swear word for posh people.

As in, "Oh dash, I've forgotton to chill the champagne".

I wouldn't saddle a child with that.

Associations: incredibles, islamic state, reindeer. For an animal it'd be fine, but not a person.

I like it. Has to be Dashiel for his birth certificate though, otherwise you've named him after a Disney character...
