Hi
Baby girl is due in 2 weeks I've posted about having the name Maggie but I've changed my mind !
What does everyone think of the name Misty ?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Helspopje · 02/09/2017 09:40

'Play misty for me' is what springs to mind

Polly99 · 02/09/2017 09:41

Not my cup of tea- it just sounds rather vapid. Or the name of a horse.

minipie · 02/09/2017 09:42

There was a Misty at my school but it was a nickname for something (Michelle maybe?)

Not keen on it as a proper name tbh

BrutusMcDogface · 02/09/2017 09:43

Animal name, I'm afraid....could you think of a longer name and call her misty as a nn?

sooperdooper · 02/09/2017 09:44

I don't think it's a real name sorry, it could be a nic name but I'm not sure what for!

hayser33 · 02/09/2017 09:47

Yes I was thinking it sounded too animal like, my other half likes it but I think it's a no from me.
I don't know what to call her I've been so set on my other children's names
I have a Lucy Jude and Katy ..any ideas anyone ?
Emmy ? I have a feeling that name will get quite popular tho

Emmy is nice, Misty is lovely - but for a cat! Smile

BrutusMcDogface · 02/09/2017 09:49

Your other kids' names are gorgeous! Smile

Emmy is ok; I don't know a single one so definitely not popular here in the south! Emma?

Ameliablue · 02/09/2017 09:50

For me it's an animal name not a person's.

RockyBird · 02/09/2017 09:50

I think it's the name of Sharleen Spiteri's daughter. I like it.

There was a lad at school who had the nickname "Misty" as every morning he missed the bus.

MusicToMyEars800 · 02/09/2017 09:51

I had a rabbit called Misty Grin
Emmy is lovely, I've only known one child with that name, and not heard in before, so don't think it will be a name that's really common.

rizlett · 02/09/2017 09:51

Janey?

vichill · 02/09/2017 09:52

Bit redneck for me. I think Alice would be a perfect fit with a Lucy and Katy.

SumAndSubstance · 02/09/2017 09:55

Definitely a horse's name. Having said that, there's nothing inherently wrong with it (though it's not my cup of tea!) and I imagine if any of us knew a little girl called Misty it would probably quite quickly become a little girl's name.

I do know of at least two girls called Missy-May!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/09/2017 09:59

Maggie is a lovely name, Misty is a cat's name.

Kr1stina · 02/09/2017 10:02

I agree, Lucy and Katy are lovely names. Go for another similar name that doesn't end with Y or IE .

dowhatyouwish · 02/09/2017 10:02

I don't like Misty, reminds me of a pet

TeachesOfPeaches · 02/09/2017 10:03

I had a cat called Misty

SuperBeagle · 02/09/2017 10:03

Misty is very 70s American.

Emmy is sweet.

daisypond · 02/09/2017 10:16

Emmy is quite popular now - often used as a short form for Emmeline.

bridgetreilly · 02/09/2017 10:17

It's an animal name to me, sorry

CakeRattleandRoll · 02/09/2017 10:22

I quite like Misty, especially for an autumn baby. I don't think 'animal name'. Why did you change your mind about Maggie?
