Could you give me a quick guesstimate on how popular Clara is?

I really like

Clara
Margot
Martha

However - thought Margot and Martha may be making a comeback, but what about Clara?

My other two DC have similar style names - not too kitsch (in my opinion), not too popular, and not too 'nana'.

Any other names gladly received! Thank you

It's cute, I like it. I wouldn't use it as I like long names but it would make me smile if a baby was introduced to me as Clara.

3 kids, 5, 3 and 3m, so have a bit of experience of current baby names. Haven't met a baby Clara or Margo. Loads of Marthas round here though.

It was 91 in 2015. It's risen year on year. I predict higher when the 2016 stats are released.

I know 2 baby Claras and have seen it mentioned loads on here.
Expecting it to have risen lots in popularity as pp said.

Margot is a bit of a marmite name. I know a friend said she had it on her list and some loved it some gave her loads of shit for it. She went for something less 'controversial' in the end

That's the name I would have given to ds if he was a girl. It's beautiful. My friend just had a girl and named her Clara but she's the only one I know

I LOVE Clara. It does seem to be making a bit of a comeback, though. I know of quite a few under 18 months, and none between 18 months and 30s!

I have a Margot, she's the only one i know,
i do like Martha , imo Margot and Martha are more 'solid' names, Clara is the sort of girly name which i can imagine would get on my nerves saying it over and over again !

Ahhh thank you! Am new to the baby name board as wasn't on MN with previous DC. By 'eck you're a friendly bunch!

I do love Clara, and it has a family tie, but have seen it a lot on here of late.

One of our other DC is a Mabel - so worried a

Mabel & Margot
Mabel & Martha

Combo might be a bit twee? Or overthinking?

Can't seem to warm to any other names!

I love Clara and probably would have gone for it but DH doesn't like it. I don't know any.

I don't know any 'Claras I think Mabel and Clara is lovely. I prefer it to both names with m initials.

I know of a 5 year old and a 1 year old Clara. I love the name and think Clara and Mabel go very well together. (Not keen on your other names).

Martha is my favourite girl's name. I only know one - a child aged seven-ish. It's my confirmation name, so two if I count myself.

Clara is lovely too. I don't know any Claras.

Mabel is a bit nana for my taste but pretty enough.

Oh sorry, I misread. You already have Mabel 😳 Mortified!! As I say, pretty name. I think it goes with Martha or Clara just fine.

@NC4now hahahahah no offence taken at all! If it's any consolation, the only other two mabels I've met have been bulldogs!!
