Not pregnant, just thinking

What middle name would you give Seamus? Something simple as surname is quite a difficult Irish name

I want to like Seamus Adam and Seamus Edward but there's something not quite right

Seamus Luke
Seamus Ross
Seamus Jude

Take your ConfusedGrinsomewhere else @MeanAger
Seamus James isn't exactly out there - someone else on this thread already mentioned it

DramaInPyjamas · 27/07/2017 00:19

I'm intrigued about GamerChicks comment
It's a traditional normal Irish name, not to everyone's tastes but doesn't mean it's 'not quite right'

I like Seamus Ardan , wee bit similar to Adam - and Irish

MeanAger · 27/07/2017 00:20

No it fits here thanks zenasfuck

DramaInPyjamas · 27/07/2017 00:20

" She can call him Jesus Christ if she wants. Its her baby"

^^

Well technically it's nobody's baby, she's not pregnant 🙈

Imaginosity · 27/07/2017 00:23

Seamus is an old man name to me - never met anyone younger than about 60 with that name. I like the name Shay though.

zenasfuck · 27/07/2017 00:25

Shame, i generally have much better things to do than judge and mock other people choices of names for their children @MeanAger - perhaps you should try it

CoCoCoconut · 27/07/2017 00:29

Seamus Eoin

frid · 27/07/2017 00:33

DramaInPyjamas, you've made me think of Seamus Ardal, which I like a lot. If the other children have more English names, do you think it's too Irish? I am Irish, but not in Ireland

I wouldn't use Seamus James personally, but I do think it sounds nice.

Seamus Charles

MeanAger · 27/07/2017 00:39

Cool story zenas

OP have you considered Sean John?

OwlDoll · 27/07/2017 00:41

Big Twit, I was going to suggest that as well as my DF was Seamus Malachy.

frid · 27/07/2017 00:43

I'm not really looking for an alternative to Seamus right now. I'm trying to find middle names for names that we currently like, for planning purposes

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 27/07/2017 00:48

Seamus is the Irish equivalent of James, it's like calling your son John Sean or Owen Eoghan.

Seamus Aodhàn/Aidan
Seamus Johnathon
Seamus Edward
Seamus Eoin/Eoghan
Seamus Joseph
Seamus Andrew

I think Seamus John and Seamus Peter are nice.

AdaColeman · 27/07/2017 00:55

Seamus Declan
Seamus Rafe

Another vote for Seamus Rory

user1459464195 · 27/07/2017 07:30

I really like Seamus Finn or Seamus Conor.

Both Irish yet relatively easy for a non-Irish speaker to spell and pronounce.

implantsandaDyson · 27/07/2017 07:35

I actually like Seamus Edward from your original suggestions.
Seamus Lorca
Seamus Dara
Seamus Myles
Seamus Conall

SparkyBlue · 27/07/2017 07:41

I think Seamus Edward sounds lovely

implantsandaDyson · 27/07/2017 07:49

Seamus Lorca is supposed to be Seamus Lorcan.

JustDontGetItAtAll · 27/07/2017 09:09

Please please don't name a child Seamus! It's too similar to semen! That child would be bullied so much it would define them

Floggingmolly · 27/07/2017 10:36

It's pronounced Shay-mus...

frid · 27/07/2017 10:41

I was hoping Seamus Finnegan from Harry Potter would mean that people would be better at pronouncing it

JustDontGetItAtAll, it's definitely Shay-mus

Seamus Heaney Surname.

I would, but that's because he's one of my favourite poets Grin.

Floggingmolly · 27/07/2017 10:57

Ah yes, shockers Smile. So would I.
