Is the Baby Name Finder on glue???

Just looked up David in the MN Baby Name Finder. It's a family name we've considered but I'm on the fence so thought I'd see what similar names they suggested. They came up with - wait for it - FESTER. Baby FESTER. Can only conclude that the name finder is tripping balls. Grin

Awww, I loved Uncle Fester.

Kind man. Loyal to his family. Non judgemental. Good with children. Had his own electrical current.

You could name a child after far worse people.

CoffeeWithMyOxygen · 14/07/2017 11:36

You make good points, actually. Even when Debbie tried to kill him he remained calm and good natured. I think it's growing on me!

I am not actually pregnant yet, so will be generous and allow other MNetters to use it on their own little baby Fester. It'll be the new Jack and Evie.

I was thinking this was going to be a debate on calling your dc Finder.

Justhadmyhaircut · 14/07/2017 11:38

Fester for a boy and Wednesday for a girl. .
My dm nearly used it for me. . . And she had a drug free labour ffs!! And I was born on a bloody Sunday!!

IWantABlueBanana · 14/07/2017 11:43

Oh dear, I've just put my dc name's into it. One suggestion, Karma... bit harsh, she's an ok kid really Grin

KingJoffreysRestingCuntface · 14/07/2017 13:05

I love Gomez as a name.

chelle85 · 15/07/2017 08:05

Haha. I put Lewis in there and got Wolfgang , Edvald and Katie (for a boy?!)

But definity putting Fester on my list now Grin

Zampa · 15/07/2017 08:12

I got Tallis, Pilar and Tawnie (for girls) when looking up Emma.

I got Cadwallader for a boy. Not sure Cad would be a decent NN ...

RJnomore1 · 15/07/2017 08:16

Based on my daughters names, I've been suggested asterix, Toke, Bugdozer or George Wheeler for a boy.

MsPassepartout · 15/07/2017 15:51

Fester Grin

Is it something like people who've shortlisted David have also shortlisted Fester?

TartanDMs · 15/07/2017 15:57

Hmm I looked up Millicent, and an alternative boys name was Elvis. In what way are they similar?

TartanDMs · 15/07/2017 15:59

And even worse, a female alternative to Thomas is U-Niq. WHAT??

DragonsandDungeons · 15/07/2017 19:28

LOL put my son's name Jonathan in and got Yedes and Janne...

FlaviaAlbia · 15/07/2017 19:39

Yeah, you're right. It is totally on glue.

I've just searched for a family name which is slightly old fashioned now and got "alternatives you may like.."
Boys
Stennet
Harley jay (yes, lowercase on jay Confused)
Ceaser

Girls
Brayley
Mir
Clio

Umm.... No.

DS has a traditional, reasonably common Scottish name.

It suggested Stormaggeden.

I think that wins

ABCFamily · 16/07/2017 17:10

Put in my daughter's name, and the top suggestions were Sparkle for a girl, and Vlad for a boy. Grin

Sparkle & Vlad.

Sounds like a My Little Pony/Count Duckula cross-over.

Sadik · 16/07/2017 17:17

DD has a very ordinary traditional biblical name (not Ruth, but that sort of thing) - I got suggestions of
Deri
Issa
Xevera
Dior
as similar girls names Grin
(I actually rather like the boy name suggestions of, Tam, Brett, Alder & Francesco - though had dd been a boy, she'd probably have been Thomas or something similar)

WhingingTulip · 16/07/2017 17:29

Put in Edward, got suggestions that included Pesto and Speckles. Damn I missed a trick there!!

FlaviaAlbia · 16/07/2017 17:40

Stormaggeden narrowly beats Bugdozer to win the thread I think.

Now I just need a baby to name Grin

SoyUnPerdedor2 · 16/07/2017 21:02

Where do I find the name finder?
Please

FlaviaAlbia · 16/07/2017 21:51

SuperBeagle · 16/07/2017 21:57

Wednesday's a fab name. I wanted it for DD2's middle name, but DH wasn't having it. Angry Wednesday is a brilliant namesake too.

Vonklump · 16/07/2017 22:02

This is fun.
I put in Bob and it suggested Acer.

ginflumpsandzebraprint · 16/07/2017 22:03

I got piaro?? For a boy
And Glissen for a girl when I put in dd1's name, do people actually name their kids these things ?
