This isn't a hate thread! I've been told that I like boring names Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Claire and Steve in my age range.

Groups of similar girls' names are dull to me now, so

Ava /Eve/ Aoife

Mia / Maya/ Emma,

Oliver and Jack among 10 year old boys.

Nodowntime · 22/06/2017 10:20

Grey ham Grin

I always thought more of this name in the context of biscuits/crackers (graham biscuits)

But I really like Graham Norton! Grin, and actually he is the only Graham I can think of consciously, don't know any in RL.

Definitely less boring name than Lee Wink

Oh, I think Lesley is very boring. And I find it sounds masculine on women, and feminine on men Hmm

I've been told I like boring names but I don't think they are anymore. There's hardly any children round my area with names like josh, Ben or most of what people have said.

I think Finley, Riley, lilly, mason are boring to be honest and middle names like may/Mae/mai as there are so many round here

I love loads of these traditional names!

Susan is the most boring name on the planet. Sorry Susans -I bet you're all great, but your name conjures up the dullest image.

When I was a child, Sarah and Joanne were really boring names because there were so many of them. These days I think the boring equivalents are Eva/Evie and Isabelle/Isabella/Izzy / once lovely names but now boring because there are so many of them. The boy equivalent is probably Sam and Jack.

I think a lot of the names mentioned aren't exactly boring, but more popular choices. A boring name imo is Ann (sorry to any ann's!). Any maybe Sue, although Susan is a nicer sound.

My name was mentioned five times on the first page Grin (I hate it and always have so I'm not offended!)

Pinkkahori · 24/06/2017 11:00

I call Full House, mine, DH's and our two dc's names are all mentioned.
Grin

Mothervulva · 24/06/2017 11:05

Grey Ham.

My brother is a Graham, a Graham Mark! I used to call him Grey Ham in the pan. I'm quite a bit older than him so when my dad told me the name I was a bit Hmm, that's nice!

As my sister is a Sarah and my name has been mentioned, my parents must have been jolly dull.

Mothervulva · 24/06/2017 11:06

Names I find a bit boring are:

Ella
Evie
Oliver
Henry

I think there's a difference between names that are dull and plain boring and those which I'm bored of hearing due to popularity.

ShatnersBassoon · 24/06/2017 19:37

Lee. As someone said, it's impossible to do anything with it. I feel a bit sorry for Lee.

Claire. The female equivalent of Lee. 70s dullness.
