Anything that's very overused tends to get boring, so for me it's names like

Alfie, Archie, Jack, Harry, Oliver etc

Ellie, Olivia, Sophie, Evie, etc

allegretto · 21/06/2017 18:49

The world's most boring name is Lee. Can't be shortened. Can't be lengthened. There is no air of mystery. No way to whisper it romantically. It's just there. Sorry Lees!

Thomas and Charlotte

Absolutely nothing wrong with them. Just boring. DH loves the name Charlotte though, so he would disagree with me.

*gruffallosfriend" wrote the exact post I was going to. If I meet another bloody baby Evie...

Castlelough · 21/06/2017 19:12

Helen...I don't know why I'm picking on the poor name Helen but Inhave always found it a bit dull.

Thurlow · 21/06/2017 19:12

I love the fact my name is on virtually everyone's list! I have no idea what my parents were thinking...

greendale17 · 21/06/2017 19:14

Jack
Alfie

Claire/Clare

Emily

Emily, just the dullest , most dreary name one could land on a child.

WhiskeySourpuss · 21/06/2017 19:57

Mine & both DD's (first & middle) names have been mentioned... love that DD1's name is the dullest, most dreary name ever... it wasn't even remotely popular when she was given it & then shot into the number one spot the following year... but hey I still love it & she's anything but dull & dreary!

Kpo58 · 21/06/2017 19:59

Jane
Sarah
Sarah-Jane

Two boring names put together doesn't make an interesting name.

MrsCharlieD · 21/06/2017 20:02

Jack, Harry, Isabella and Esme. Just dull as dishwater and ten a penny.

Umpteenthnamechange · 21/06/2017 20:04

I take it you mean English names? If so here goes -

Jane
Janet
Deirdre
Arthur
Doris
Gertrude
Alan

What do you picture when you read those names? I vividly see our village garden centre around 11 am on a weekday... Wink

DramaAlpaca · 21/06/2017 20:07

Oh dear, my name is on here, as is DS's, and lots of names I like.

I must be very boring indeed Grin

M5tothesouthwest · 21/06/2017 20:13

Helen
Sarah
Mark

Lemondrop99 · 21/06/2017 20:25

I think it's just popular names. The names themselves might be lovely but become 'boring' because you've heard them so many time. Each generation has their own set of 'boring' names, and they all tend to have been very popular at one time.

Rollonbedtime7pm · 21/06/2017 20:33

Agree lemon - I just groan if I hear of yet another baby Oliver Hmm

It's not that it's a particularly boring name itself, it's just boring that no one seems to have any originality!

OuchBollocks · 21/06/2017 20:35

Me, DS and DD all have our names on this thread (DS's has featured several times already :) ) Dull and proud Grin
