Totally crushing on the name Jean. What are your thoughts on it?

Sibset would be Finn, Louis, Hector & Jean

Prefer Jane.

Gm was Jane but got Jean (?!!!)

Selondoner75 · 30/05/2017 21:07

See, I find Jane quite plain; but Jean has attitude.

I find it dull as dishwater. See also Jane, Joan and June. Boring.

Elllicam · 30/05/2017 21:08

I love Jean. Really nice name and very uncommon without being weird.

Cestquiluideja · 30/05/2017 21:08

Love it. Sweet and not popular.

FlyingGoose · 30/05/2017 21:09

It is my daughter's middle name and I love it😀

BrutusMcDogface · 30/05/2017 21:10

Jean could be cool and edgy depending on who owns the name, I think. Otherwise it's a very dull and not even chic old lady's name, I'm afraid.

Would your jean be a cool, edgy kid of girl do you think? Or a plain Jane/jean?

17caterpillars1mouse · 30/05/2017 21:11

I prefer Joan.

Jean is okay but Joan seems fiesty and retro chic

iamdazedandconfused · 30/05/2017 21:12

I know a very cool (adult) Jeannie Smile

Oliversmumsarmy · 30/05/2017 21:14

Have known 2 Jeans they have all been mean Jeans. All really tight fisted

user1482079332 · 30/05/2017 21:14

I just picture Stacey's mum from eastenders

myrtleWilson · 30/05/2017 21:15

I love Jean (and Joan - thanks to Buffy/Tabula Rasa episode!) but agree you have to have the personality and coolness to wear them well. I also think Jean works well as a middle name...

Selondoner75 · 30/05/2017 21:16

Brutus - if she takes after her brothers, then definitely quirky 😁

Caterpillars - I also love Joan, but rhymes with moan and my children tend to be rather moany.

Dazedandconfused - yes, love the nn Jeannie ☺

V biased, love it. It's tough and cool like the fabric. We must have similar taste, OP, as the other three nsmes you've listed include DS's name and one of my top 5 in case I ever have another DS.

Jean

Villa - is it your daughter's name? What great taste you have!

Shoesearcher - interesting! Possibly may become a bit more mainstream if this model becomes well known...

Go for it then! It goes particularly well with hector, I think! Jeannie is a great nickname!

Marv1nGay3 · 30/05/2017 21:26

I love it!

whifflesqueak · 30/05/2017 21:26

Reminds me of the Smiths song.

Not a bad thing.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 30/05/2017 21:27

I love it, one of my favourite names.

MouldyPeach · 30/05/2017 21:28

I absolutely love it and even had a thread on here where the genral consensus was very marmite. I didn't use it in the end as dh didn't love it but it's definitely in the bank if I have another dd. Very cool name IMHO.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/05/2017 22:06

Great name, definitely due a come back.
Also like Jane.

Sophronia · 30/05/2017 22:45

Lovely! I like Jeanie too.

Crumbelina · 30/05/2017 22:47

I really like it - works very well as a middle name as well. Ruby Jean is a particular favourite ...

Dinosaursdontgrowontrees · 30/05/2017 22:51

I know a fabulous little Jeanie. I love the name! (Also love Joan)
