Hello everyone,

Our favourite names are Kacper and Oskar. We have decided on the middle name Maksymilian :)

Which do you prefer: Kacper Maksymilian or Oskar Maksymilian?

Thank you x

neither sorry.

They all sound like best in show at Crufts. How do you pronounce kacper?

HelloEngland · 15/03/2017 01:01

@QuestionableMouse - sorry?

It's really hard to explain how it's pronounced (due to the accent) but this is good: www.howtopronounce.com/polish/kacper/ :)

Are you Polish?

Kacper I assume is the same name as Kasper. In which case Kacper Maksymillian.

HelloEngland · 15/03/2017 01:04

@SaudadeObama - yes :)

It is pronounced slightly different, but that's all. Thank you!

Kacper

Out2pasture · 15/03/2017 01:38

i prefer the kacper maksymilian combination.

theothercatpurred · 15/03/2017 01:41

I love them both. (Sorry unhelpful!)

SchnitzelVonCrumb · 15/03/2017 01:56

I really like them both - I didn't know that was the Polish spelling.

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/03/2017 02:08

I think if the baby is going to be living in the UK people will assume it's a misspelling. I have a name that is correct in another country and constantly misspelled so I know what it's like.

Regardless I prefer Oskar.

MiniMaxi · 15/03/2017 02:25

We have v similar taste! I love both options, though I know that doesn't help you choose!

I'd say Oskar Maksymilian narrowly wins it for me, mainly because of similarities to our son's name Grin

Jooni · 15/03/2017 06:57

Both gorgeous! I vote Oskar but only just.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 15/03/2017 09:18

Oskar.

BarInSpace · 15/03/2017 09:21

Oskar, as people will know how to pronounce it. It could be pretty annoying to hear Cack-per for the 1000th time.

Newtssuitcase · 15/03/2017 09:25

Kacper will be pronounced by 99% of Brits as "Kack - per". Given that Cack means poo I would avoid that.

mum2be2boys · 15/03/2017 11:06

Both nice names. I think I prefer Oscar :-)

EssentialHummus · 15/03/2017 11:11

This, unfortunately.

I prefer Oskar.

saltyshoes · 15/03/2017 11:12

I know a Polish Oskar whose nickname sounds like Oskee. He's a gorgeous boy so perhaps I'm biased but I'd choose Oskar.

DramaAlpaca · 15/03/2017 11:13

Oskar will be much easier for British people to say.

Grindelwaldswand · 15/03/2017 11:16

Both sound lovely OP sorry for all the racist views on here we aren't all like that and obviously Kacper is pronounced as Kasper and Maxsymilian as Maximilian which are both normal names here Smile i have a lot of Polish friends so im familiar.

MyBreadIsEggy · 15/03/2017 11:17

Oskar Maksymilian Smile

My cousin's name is Maksymilian, so I couldn't use it for my DS Sad

Newtssuitcase · 15/03/2017 11:18

Erm where exactly are there any racist views on this thread. Hmm I take great offence at that if you are referring to my comment.

It is not racist in any way to point out that in this country there will be mispronunciations of the name Kacper which have very negative connotations.

Grindelwaldswand · 15/03/2017 11:19

It doesn't matter what you want it's what the OP wants! Hmm so selfish

Newtssuitcase · 15/03/2017 11:20

I don't want anything! Am how exactly am I selfish?

Some people are quite astonishing.

Grindelwaldswand · 15/03/2017 11:21

Ive never heard of the word "Cack" being used and if you can't pronounce those name's you must be illiterate. There are so many horrible snarky replies on here it makes me ashamed to be British. Disgusting people hiding behind your keyboards

Newtssuitcase · 15/03/2017 11:21

Are you drunk grindelwald?
