We have spent most of the day looking at, discussing and playing around with our LONG list of names and think we may have narrowed it down to Otis and Cosima!!!!!

So what do you think....

Eli, Aphra & Otis

Eli, Aphra & Cosima

JanuaryJuniper · 28/02/2017 18:40

Love Otis, and Otto as a previous poster mentioned.
I dislike Cosima, but I think that is because Nigella has a Cosima and most things about her infuriate me. Sorry!

JanuaryJuniper · 28/02/2017 18:43

Oh sorry myoriginal I thought that was you that said is it for a boy or girl duh must double check before I post x

If it's a girl call it Sadie! 🤣

Lancelottie · 28/02/2017 18:58

I know a very pleasant young Cosima (pronounced Cozzy-ma). never given it a though before then except maybe to wonder you to pronounce it.

Otis is a lift, isn't it?

Lancelottie · 28/02/2017 18:58

Ignore my inability to type

JanuaryJuniper · 28/02/2017 18:59

Well I could say what type of parent tends to use Sadie around these parts but I won't get into categorising names Wink let's just say it won't be making my shortlist!!

January Grin

Jazzywazzydodah · 28/02/2017 19:01

Not a fan of Cosima at all, I like Otis though.

Veterinari · 28/02/2017 19:01

Lovely names OP

Lots of weird, unhelpful and unpleasant responses!

JanuaryJuniper · 28/02/2017 19:04

Yep Otis is used for lifts but was a name long before it was a lift Grin

Dogs don't stop Jack and Rex and Poppy being used
Rice and curry doesn't stop Ben being used
Biscuits doesn't stop Jacob being used

So to sum up the lift thing doesn't bother me!

Yeah I pretty much obviously love the names as none of the comments or perceived negatives are bothering me or putting me off, which is why (to the poster who wondered) I sarted the thread to see if the feedback would put me off or throw up something I hadn't thought of!

Not keen on Otis - like Cosima -

how about some supporters of Aphra such as Nathaniel or Bartholomew ..

JanuaryJuniper · 28/02/2017 19:08

Yes Veterinari I agree definitely some weird, unhelpful and unpleasant responses...I guess some people get up on their high horse when others have the audacity to make a decision that's a little left field god forbid you don't pick a top ten name (obviously I must have notions of myself Grin)

Water off a ducks back though.....quack....paddles off into the distance!

What's wrong with Sadie? I know 4. All from very different 'classes' Hmm

BusterGonad · 28/02/2017 19:13

For some reason Sadie makes me think of cats! Op choose the names you love, I personally wouldn't use your choices but it's not for my child, but I'm not going to slate them either as it's a very personal thing. Some might say my sons name is boring but I don't care as I love it and it suits him. It's traditional and he wouldn't suit any other name. Smile

catsarenice · 28/02/2017 19:18

I really like Otis - although upon suggesting it to DP he reminded me of Otis the Aardvark but that didn't bother me as he was cute! Still got vetoed though. I don't like Cosima though I'm afraid but love the sibling names

user1483387154 · 28/02/2017 19:23

Not heard of Cosima before only Cosimo, but I like it :)

myoriginal3 · 28/02/2017 19:24

Who was to know they were a male and female name. I certainly didn't. I thought you were choosing between the two for a boy.
