Space and Spacious (brother and sister.)

No way! How cool would it be if they set up a loft conversion company when they grow up.

AmysTiara · 27/02/2017 09:51

Grace and William. Both popular names but Grace sounds harsh and ugly and William sounds so wet.

Not a fan of Olivia and Oliver either.

RosaDeZoett · 27/02/2017 09:52

Copperpipe are you a rapper?

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 27/02/2017 09:58

Whiskey - my niece is Lucy. DSis can be quite scary formidable. I'd love to hear somebody tell her that she'd used a dog's name Grin.

Woody67 · 27/02/2017 09:59

Morning I don't dislike James, Thomas , Grant, I'd think of these as first names as surnames not surnames as first names IYSWIM!

WhiskeySourpuss · 27/02/2017 10:08

Santa your sister has good taste in names Wink I don't know know any other Lucy's & funnily enough for the amount of people who have suggested it's a dogs name I don't know any dogs called Lucy either Hmm

Notthecarwashagain · 27/02/2017 10:19

Taylor22 you completed my full house! Bingo! "ere y'ar!" Grin

LobsterQuadrille · 27/02/2017 10:38

I don't have a problem with most people disliking hyphenated names - I like mine but am not keen on either half (not Mae!) on its own. To those who've expressed the toe curl for the hyphen, what about names like Rosemary and Marianne which are the same without the hyphen?

FriendlyPolecat · 27/02/2017 10:40

There are some names I think belong in the dust bin

David Cameron
George Osborne
Theresa May
Iain Duncan Smith
Jeremy Hunt
Chris Grayling

lottieandmia · 27/02/2017 10:51

😂 Polecat

Ottile - it's so try hard

Michelle
Wayne
Tabitha

YouJumpIJumpJack · 27/02/2017 10:52

I'm surprised and slightly disappointed my DS's name hasn't popped up yet. It's not that common but it's gaining popularity. However, loads of people expressed their dislike for it when I told them.

Has Keith been mentioned? Ugh I know it's not common but everytime I hear it I shudder.

Soubriquet · 27/02/2017 10:52

I see:-
My sisters name
My brothers name
My husbands name
My daughters name

Ah well.

I can't stand the name Lydia. And it keeps being suggested lately

Soubriquet · 27/02/2017 10:54

Oh no wait. My son is named too

My name has been mentioned for an stupid spelling but it isn't spelt like that...

So can I shout bingo?

Rockaby · 27/02/2017 10:58

My DH and both his sisters have been mentioned, as has my dad and my sister.

My DD, my brother, mother and me are all fine though (phew) Grin!

TheTartOfAsgard · 27/02/2017 10:58

Macey, Lacey, kacey, Stacy, Tracey, Gracie, pacey, darcy, dulcie, Lexie, pixie, trixie, etc

Also don't like lucy (my name) was nicknamed 'loo seat' by my cow of a sister when I was little.

lottieandmia · 27/02/2017 11:03

I can't believe some people are offended by this thread. Whatever name you choose, there will always be someone who doesn't like it.

Jeremy - I thought of this. But when my dd was 3 she named her toy rabbit Jeremy and since then I think of it as sweet Grin

WhiskeySourpuss · 27/02/2017 11:07

Asgard that's a new one for me but will definitely try it out on DD when she gets home from school Grin

SmellySphinx · 27/02/2017 11:08

Shock my name has been mentioned once, I'm not a bully though!

Oh anything that sounds like a cleaning product I'm not keen on.

I usually think if you can look down on baby and feel comfortable saying "Baby "name" then it's ok...

But aww, Baby Kevin, Baby Dave (Royal family!) Baby Steve, Baby Karen...don't sound right

My 12 year old has a Chardonnay in her school.

Stella, Fosters, Bulmers? What next?!

MewlingQuim · 27/02/2017 11:08

Mine and DB's names are always on threads like this. Apparently they are chavvy names.

I always find this hilarious as DM is a proper Hyacynth Bucket type.

She would be horrified Grin

Sudoname · 27/02/2017 11:08

13 pages in and no mention of my ds name. I am impressed as it is a marmite name!!! My dogs name was mentioned though... shame on that poster Shock Wink

tigerdriverII · 27/02/2017 11:11

I can't believe some people are offended by this thread. Whatever name you choose, there will always be someone who doesn't like it.

Undoubtedly that's true. My objection to this thread is that it, like all the others of this vein, is to have a jolly good laugh at the "lower orders". It's unkind and unnecessary and whilst I personally don't give a flying fuck whether someone likes my choice, I don't think this sort of insidious snobbery is pleasant.

SmellySphinx · 27/02/2017 11:16

Wh are people offended for fucks sake haha. It's just the names people don't like, doesn't mean they don't like you as a person or have some vendetta against you - the OP presumably doesn't know everyone who happened across this thread, yeah...?

Seriously Grin get some perspective. Log out of Mumsnet shut the door and put Cbeebies on!

I'm JOKING before anyone gets offended at that too!

lottieandmia · 27/02/2017 11:17

It's not really snobbery imo - many if the names mentioned have been in the top 10 for years (like Jack, Chloe and Jessica)

SmellySphinx · 27/02/2017 11:19

It's all relative to the time period too surely, what is popular and well liked now won't be in ten years then rhere will be a resurgence (sp?)

SmellySphinx · 27/02/2017 11:21

Why there Angry
