Can't decide if i love it
or hate it.

Opinions? does it remind you too much of the colour?

FishInAWetSuitAndFlippers · 18/01/2017 23:39

The first thing I think of is Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

CauliflowerSqueeze · 18/01/2017 23:39

Reminds me of the girl in Charlie and the chocolate factory

ferriswheel · 18/01/2017 23:39

magicstar1 · 18/01/2017 23:43

SingaSong12 · 18/01/2017 23:44

Charlie and the chocolate factory or the William books by Richmal Crompton (they had Violet Elizabeth who threatened to thcream and thcream and thcream)

Thisrabbitthatrabbit · 18/01/2017 23:45

A series of unfortunate events. It has positive connotations for me.

SuckingEggs · 18/01/2017 23:49

I like it.

Zippidydoodah · 18/01/2017 23:49

"Violet! You're turning violet, Violet!"

Popped straight into my head! I love the film though, so it's not negative for me!

MollyHuaCha · 18/01/2017 23:50

Love this name. Smile

maisybobbins · 18/01/2017 23:54

Love love it.

There was a really cool girl on Corrie called violet.

MrsBlennerhassett · 18/01/2017 23:54

I think its beautiful!! But it is becoming very trendy and is on the top 50 for last year i think?

Darlink · 18/01/2017 23:58

Violent

Mungobungo · 18/01/2017 23:59

I'm afraid it's Violet Beauregard from the chocolate factory.

Or Violent

Not my cuppa, but then, not my baby! If you love it and it goes nicely with last name then my opinion doesn't really matter all that much.

oldlaundbooth · 18/01/2017 23:59

Charlie too.

OutnumberedbyFurchesters · 19/01/2017 00:01

Violent.

fusspot66 · 19/01/2017 00:01

I'll thcweam and thcweam

cantthinkofabloodyname · 19/01/2017 00:02

Evil family member.

321zerobaby · 19/01/2017 00:11

Old lady, Auntie Vi.

DramaAlpaca · 19/01/2017 00:16

Same as fusspot66 Grin

It's a nice name, though.

tigerdriverII · 19/01/2017 00:19

Thcweam and thcweam until I'm thick.

It's a pretty name but a bit Victorian tweeny even without the Just William connotation.

Beeziekn33ze · 19/01/2017 00:20

Like all the flower names, Poppy, Lily, Daisy, Rosie, Violet, Iris. They make me think of the flowers.

Eeeek686 · 19/01/2017 00:26

I know a little Violet, she's 4 and adorable! I've heard on here before something which is proven to be true - all past connotations disappear in the presence of your child, and it will be the same for your friends and family, I guarantee it. Smile

It's a lovely name, if you like it, use it!

notangelinajolie · 19/01/2017 00:35

I don't think of the colour at all. I think of Violet Elizabeth from Just William books. Oh and didn't Hyacinth Bucket have a sister called Violet?

It's a lovely name, congratulations!

Pluto30 · 19/01/2017 00:42

Violet Beauregard from Willy Wonka.

I don't dislike the name, but she's still the first thing that comes to mind.

Second association is the Violet from A Series of Unfortunate Events, and I wouldn't be surprised if the new series on Netflix spurs a massive increase in popularity for the name Violet (not sure that Sunny will experience the same, and I'm quite sure Klaus won't).
