What do you think of when you hear the name Violet?

Can't decide if i love it
or hate it.

Opinions? does it remind you too much of the colour?

Violet from Charlie and the chocolate factory.
Always see violent first sadly, plus first autocorrect for it.
Apart from that I feel I should like it more than I actually do.

The colour or as saltedcaramel said, Parma Violets.

I think of the flower. It's a lovely name, I know a Violet, nn Vivi, which is beautiful

A truly horrible woman I worked with who named one of her children Violet.

Lovely name. My colleague's pre-school age DD is called Violet. They don't shorten it although I can imagine Vi or Vee as a nickname when she gets older.

Violet = Violent? Only as much as:-
Maddie = mad
Kirsty = cursed
Eve = evil
etc.

Violet is nice, and I think people aren't so strongly associating it with the character anymore from Charlie and the chocolate factory. My concern with this name is that Vi is not a nice nn.
