Leonardo.

FizzyFeet · 03/12/2016 12:46

I like them both but would go for Maximilian rather than add an extra 'o'.

DollieDottie · 03/12/2016 12:47

FizzyFeet - it would be Maximiliano Smile

Maximiliano sounds made up, like some slightly dodgy restaurant chain that cannot decide if it wants to serve tapas or pasta.

so of the two i would prefer Leonardo.

SorenaJ · 03/12/2016 12:56

Leonardo

DollieDottie · 03/12/2016 13:03

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia - what? Confused

OP posts:
PberryT · 03/12/2016 13:04

Agree, Leonardo is better.

The other name sounds made up.

NoCapes · 03/12/2016 13:06

Is Maximiliano a real name?? Confused

Crispbutty · 03/12/2016 13:06

Sorry but they both sound like ninja turtles. Max and Leo sounds much nicer.

DollieDottie · 03/12/2016 13:06

How can it sound made up?

OP posts:
LadyMaryofDownt0n · 03/12/2016 13:06

Leonardo would be my choice is my choice we have three in the family

Maxi-mili-ano is that how it's pronounced? Seems long winded for a name. I take it you have an Italian connection?

DollieDottie · 03/12/2016 13:07

NoCapes - yes Confused

LadyMaryofDownt0n · 03/12/2016 13:07

Crisp that's very rude, there are other cultures on this forum you know.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/12/2016 13:07

Whichever one you choose, they'll end up Leo or Max.

I have a Max but everyone tries to elongate his name (because you can't shorten it unless you call him 'M' which sounds quite James Bond )so he ends up Maxwell, Maxamillion, or Maxey (I can't abide Maxey) but on his BC he's "Max".

Out of the two, Leonardo.

DollieDottie · 03/12/2016 13:08

LadyMaryofDownt0n - no, we are Spanish.

Crispbutty - he will probably go by Leo/Max!

OP posts:
EssentialHummus · 03/12/2016 13:17

These are Spanish/Italian names - they're not made up Confused.

OP I like both, but with a slight preference for Leonardo. Make sure you're happy with Leo/Max, since it'll inevitably be shortened.

Crispbutty · 03/12/2016 13:22

I'm not being rude, I'm giving an opinion. I can see quite clearly they are Italian names as I am part Italian but it doesn't stop me thinking of that when I see those names.

SausageSoda · 03/12/2016 13:24

Maximiliano sounds ridiculous IMO but I do like Maximilian. As Maximilian isn't an option I'll go with Leonardo by default.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/12/2016 13:24

Leonardo for me

Maxilmiliano is 6 syllables!! - that's 2 too many in my book

SoupDragon · 03/12/2016 14:00

These are Spanish/Italian names - they're not made up confused.

Yes, but asking on a uk based website with no context, you're going to get answers based on how they sound in the U.K.

DollieDottie · 03/12/2016 14:04

We live in the UK?

OP posts:
VintagePerfumista · 03/12/2016 14:08

Do you mean Massimiliano?

No such name in Italy as Maximiliano. Presume it's Spanish?

Leonardo is currently in the top 5 commonest names in Italy if that bothers you. It would also inevitably become Leo.

Not keen on either.

lexatin · 03/12/2016 14:09

It must be Spanish, no X in Italian. Massimo is a nice name?

DollieDottie · 03/12/2016 14:13

No? I never said I was Italian... I said we were Spanish Smile
