I've gone off my 3 month old's name... Help!

My 3 month old daughter has a name that isn't that common (isn't in the top 100) which I like. I never shorten it, but don't care what other people do, if they used the known shortenings.

There's a NN I honestly never thought of, they're saying it to take the piss (family) but go on to say how she'll get it all her life anyway, so they are starting her young

I'm thinking of changing it to Grace, I know that's popular, but there's no offensive NNs, is there?

When this happened to us with DD4 I simply said that if they didn't stop using the NN then they would NEVER see us again - they stopped immediately and have never referred to her by said NN again :D

I think your family are being jealous. You don't slag off someones name to their mother unless you want to hurt that person, they obv want to upset you and would prob make a joke of any name that you picked. I think Gabriella is gorgeous. Nice people dont say nasty things remember that

I work in a school - we have the WORLD'S MOST talkative child called Gabriella.

She has never in her life been called Gobby Gabby, and trust me, if any child could own that nickname she could.,..but she doesn't ever get called that.

I agree with what other people have said and if you like the name then ignore. That said, if you pick a nickname yourself you can redirect them saying please either call her Gabriella or ..... I love the nickname Gigi for Gabriella. If only I had a daughter to use the name!!!

One of my sisters is called Gabrielle, and had never been called this nn. I also work in a school and have never heard anyone refer to the 2 Gabriella's as that either.
