Doesn't sound posh.
Could he shortened to elt.
Bentley is rather unfortunate. Sorry!

SloanePeterson · 26/10/2016 13:54

Sounded a bit posho?! Nope.

Foxtato · 26/10/2016 13:55

Don't like Bentley

TopKittyKat · 26/10/2016 13:55

I love it OP. Ignore the naysayers!

nagsandovalballs · 26/10/2016 13:55

Well, it's not posh, it's American/Canadian. The only eltons (2!) I know are from there. I don't think elton john is an issue!

It's quite a lot of 't' sounds though.

Elton is a good solid name, but not going to achieve what you want in terms of posh!

NoCapes · 26/10/2016 13:58

Elton is quite cool tbh, but iy can be shortened, and probably to El (I know an Elliott who is mostly just called El)
But Bentley is ... Well it pretty horrific tbh

Normandy144 · 26/10/2016 13:58

Elton could get shortened to Elt. My Dad has been known to refer to Mr John as Elt! Is Bentley the surname or middle name? I'd rethink the Bentley bit assuming it's the middle name choice as it sounds anything but posh.

ScarletSienna · 26/10/2016 13:58

I wouldn't say it sounds posh necessarily (all the truly 'posh' I know have children with names like Henry, Nicholas, Hector and Tom).
Elton John will be ore what other adults think I imagine but it wouldn't put me off it if I liked it.

I think Bentley is terrible for a name of a person. Does it have a significant meaning for you?

NoCapes · 26/10/2016 13:59

Oh yes and not posh at all - not unless you think all the Britney's are also 'posho'

bentley is a car

MotherDuckSaid · 26/10/2016 13:59

Haha Bentley is our surname, so thts a sticker !

OP posts:
Normandy144 · 26/10/2016 14:00

I'd opt for something classic against Elton, something like....
Elton Christopher
Elton James
Elton George
Elton Alexander
Elton Timothy

Vixxfacee · 26/10/2016 14:01

Get rid of Elton if you can't get rid of Bentley!

ScarletSienna · 26/10/2016 14:01

Bentley is a fine surname but I thought you were suggesting it as a middle name!

MotherDuckSaid · 26/10/2016 14:03

The whole name would be Elton Charles Bentley (Bentley being our surname)

The only other name I like is Thomas, but I'm feeling a bit Meh about it, and my due date has been and gone 😭

OP posts:
Vixxfacee · 26/10/2016 14:03

Charles Bentley sounds posh.
Charlie Bentley doesn't flow though.

MotherDuckSaid · 26/10/2016 14:04

Ye ,I'm not a fan of Bentley as a name

OP posts:
NoCapes · 26/10/2016 14:08

Oh Bentley is the surname Blush whoops!

Foxtato · 26/10/2016 14:14

Oh! Elton Charles is nice.
With the surname Bentley then Elton seems harsh with it, with the 't's.
It does sound nice all together

ScarletSienna · 26/10/2016 14:16

Thomas Charles Bentley sounds great!

NoCapes · 26/10/2016 14:18

Thomas Bentley is lovely!

MotherDuckSaid · 26/10/2016 14:20

Perhaps I shud just go with Thomas then, maybe its my hormones telling me tht Elton is a spiffing brilliant name 😂

OP posts:
ScarletSienna · 26/10/2016 14:23

Hormones told me that I liked Montgomery...

MotherDuckSaid · 26/10/2016 14:25

Oooh Montgomery...! adds to list 🙈
