Phoenix or Griffin?

Our son has been here a week, but we still can't pick between these 2.

Which one do you prefer? Smile

We have a daughter named Harmony.

We know our liked names aren't to everyone's tastes, but oh well!

Griffin by a mile.

Congratulations on his safe arrival!

Couchpotato3 · 09/10/2016 14:26

Griffin (Griff for short?)

PawWavingCat · 09/10/2016 14:27

Griffin for sure.

Madbengalmum · 09/10/2016 14:29

Sorry dislike both, but griffin is more bearable.
Think Phoenix is naff though.

Cluesue · 09/10/2016 14:30

Definitely Griffin

DoloresVanCartier · 09/10/2016 14:30

Aren't they both mythical creatures?
Neither for me I'm afraid.

Loyly · 09/10/2016 14:33

Griffin

LampLight2016 · 09/10/2016 14:33

I already said that people might not like them, no need to say really, unless you have a preference (for future people who will comment!!!)

Thanks everyone Smile

Yes, I assume he'll be Griff

LOVE the name Griffin!
Congrats

GazingAtStars · 09/10/2016 14:40

Griffin

daisiesinherfootsteps · 09/10/2016 14:42

Griffin. Once you get used to it (I know a teenage one) Griffin does actually sound like a normal enough name on a boy that other kids will get used to. Phoenix will set him up for a lifetime of difficulty. Griffin also goes better with Harmony.

Trying to be polite as you clearly don't want our opinions on the names themselves. We have very different tastes Grin

Chinlo · 09/10/2016 15:39

Both are a little too out there for me to use, but I do actually like both. I think Griffin is a little more manly, so that gets my vote.

UnicornPee · 09/10/2016 16:33

Where I live The Griffin is the roughest pub in town so I just think of that and therefore hate it.
Phoenix is cute.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 09/10/2016 16:34

I like Pheonix

TaggieRR · 09/10/2016 16:34

Griffin!

Sophronia · 09/10/2016 16:44

MotherDuckSaid · 09/10/2016 16:45

I know a bro and sis called griffin and phoenix

CakeRattleandRoll · 09/10/2016 16:47

Griffin

Chewbecca · 09/10/2016 16:48

To me, Griffin is a boy's name, Phoenix is girl's

Foxtato · 09/10/2016 16:59

Definitely Griffin! Smile

Batteriesallgone · 09/10/2016 17:00

Phoenix is unisex so depends if that influences your choice. I only know female Phoenixs (what is the correct plural?).

Prefer Griffin I think although Griffin is also a surname which I'm generally not keen on for first names.

So....dunno? Not helpful sorry Blush

Evergreen17 · 09/10/2016 17:01

I like Phoenix a lot

pinocchiosnose · 09/10/2016 17:02

Im going to go against the grain and say Phoenix . Griffin just makes me think of Peter Griffin from family guy while Phoenix brings images of Joaquin and River :)

wherethewildrosesgrow · 09/10/2016 17:09

griffin is better phoenix might get shortened to 'fee' or nic/nix, which is fine if you don't mind this, there are loads of names I like, but I'm put off by the shortened versions, you wont be able to stop this as they get older

DramaAlpaca · 09/10/2016 17:10

Griffin
