Our son has been here a week, but we still can't pick between these 2.

Which one do you prefer? Smile

We have a daughter named Harmony.

We know our liked names aren't to everyone's tastes, but oh well!

I like both but Phoenix is a little more unusual if that's what you are going for. There are lots of Griffs about.

What NN would you have for Phoenix? Phee?

SorenaJ · 11/10/2016 11:29

Griffin

JeanGenie23 · 11/10/2016 11:32

Phoenix

I have always thought this name is awesome but I also think it sounds better with harmony Smile

BlueKarou · 11/10/2016 12:01

Griffin, NN Fin.

Congrats on your new arrival!

Griffin by a mile and I like the nn Griff.

Really don't like Phoenix

Congrats Flowers

Harmony and Griffin :)

Here in Wales Griff is a fairly normal name.

MothershipG · 12/10/2016 13:59

I have a teenage Griffin, so obviously I think it's a fab name. GrinGrin

It is usually really disliked on MN, but neither my son nor I have ever had a negative reaction in RL and lots of positive ones.

Griffin makes me think of Peter Griffin (Family Guy) and Nick Griffin (even worse) yet I prefer it to Phoenix and like it as Griff too.

Despite what stats say, Phoenix sounds too feminine but maybe it's me imagining 'Fee' as a nn.

So, Griffin!

DiegeticMuch · 12/10/2016 18:38

Griffin nn Griff is cool. Phoenix seems more girly.

MissTakesOurMaid · 12/10/2016 18:44

There is a video game character named Phoenix Wright, Phoenix being a nickname for his real name Nick, I believe. It's a bit much for me but if you really wanted it you could call him Nick on his birth certificate and refer to him as Phoenix in day to day life.

Griffin is a much better name and personally would be my choice, I used to know a Griff (am in Wales) - I think Griffin is great for a teen/adult with the NN Griff being very cute for a baby!

How about Manticore, Hippogryf or Chimera? The last one'/ probably best for a girl.........
