I know lots of Scarletts (age 6 and below) and no Violets. So I'd go for Violet if you want something more unusual.

I prefer Violet, but if going for Scarlett, I'd use the conventional spelling because everyone will use two T's anyway.

Incidentally, I have no idea why the colour has one T and the name has two...

Scarlet is a strong vibrant colour. Violet is demure and subtle. Maybe you should wait till you see her!

Both lovely. I would wait until you meet her to make the final decision but my preference would be Violet.

Scarlett seems like a very strong confident sort of name I think. I don't patricualry like it, though I've no real reasons why. I've never known one.
Violet I think it the better of the two options.

Scarlett. But that's personal preference I have a dd that is 2 and she is Scarlett with a double barrelled surname.
