42 names; 1 little boy - help!

If OP's DH is anything like mine was, after her weeks of coming up with a long short list, days writing out lists, and hours herding a MN committee towards a decision, he will turn round at the last possible second and say:
"I've just decided, He's Joel.' (or whatever)

I'm knackered and up he gets for a feed

Tally (until 10.45 when people started to repeat themselves)

Alexander: +30, -3.
Matthew: +12, -6.
James: +10, -3.
William: +6, -7.

MaryZ i quite agree but in this mad day and age im sure a simple misspelled Matthew would be ambrosia to the teachers who have to keep track of the Jayms, Kaydees and Codees of the current classes.

Sebastian was my DH's brother's name, who died when he was 10.

But he's your baby OP and if this process has shown you that you had a subconscious favourite then that's quite alright of course.
